The game sounds amazing. I cant wait to get my hands on it.

mikeslemonade2759d ago

The game is gonna be a victim of parity. PC version gonna be gimped.

The Witcher 3 on current gen consoles is graphically lower than PCs lowest settings. I'd say that's proof enough this game will be and has been PC first from the beginning

I love dynamic random encounters in open world games, it's what really makes you want to explore the game world.

By all accounts it's looking like this game is going to take the open world RPG crown from Bethesda. Speaking of Bethesda - any more news of their coming announcement?

DarkOcelet2759d ago

I hope Fallout 4 and Dishonored 2 are announced at E3.

Roccetarius2759d ago (Edited 2759d ago )

Unfortunately Dishonored 2 is probably too far into development, otherwise i would've liked to see it in Unreal Engine 4 with DX12 or Vulkan as well.

"working on current generation platforms (Xbox One, PS4 and PC) allowed the studio to do things that weren’t possible before."

They were possible before but just on PC.

Roccetarius2759d ago (Edited 2759d ago )

Indeed, and some things were scaled back due to these new platforms. They're just not admitting that to the press, because it would look bad.

Genova842759d ago

The new consoles are not holding back the pc version of this game.

Xbox1 - 900p 30 FPS
PS4 - 1080p 30 FPS
R9 290x or GTX770 - 1080p 30 FPS

You already need a R9 295x2, or possibly GTX970/GTX980 to run this game at 1080p at 60 FPS. You can forget about 4K ... for now ...

Roccetarius2759d ago (Edited 2759d ago )

Genova84, it was already mentioned in interviews that they had to do texture parity with the platforms, amongst other things i'm sure that was left out. So yes, the PC is being held back. Otherwise they said it would've been impossible for them to do a multi-platform game of this scale.

starchild2759d ago

Texture quality isn't an issue. The consoles have plenty of RAM and the textures in the game look great anyway.

RegorL2759d ago

"Not possible before"

Just let me remind you of BF:BC2 (2010)...

Anyone got a link showing destruction and AI?

And BF:BC2 does even have multi player so you need to share state among several consoles...

starchild2759d ago

Obviously they are talking about doing all those things at that quality level at the same time. That's what makes it unique and not possible on previous hardware.

There has never been an open world game with all these things:

1. The density of geometry and sheer scale.
2. Dynamic foliage,cloth and hair.
3. Physically based rendering.
4. Physics based destruction.

RegorL2759d ago

I still want to see it... links?

"Yet, for instance, there’s a ruined house in the barrens that you can destroy. It’s completely pointless, but thanks to next gen, it’s possible."

so you can't destroy any house, just a specific one?
and destroying it is completely pointless!?

Sorry this sounds like a check list feature
Destruction - check

the witcher 3 will be an immense game i dont even doubt that, and CDP are a dev team a lot of other devs could learn a thing or two from, but id like a witcher set in the future after this game, i have had my fill of orcs and dragons, and regardless of how unpopular my opinion is there most likely will be a few who share my issue, now i want to slay some cyborgs

Xavior_Reigns2759d ago

How about cybernetic dragons?

starchild2759d ago

Their next game is "Cyberpunk", so you are in luck. It's not a Witcher game, but it is a futuristic sci-if game.

WESKER20152759d ago

cheers for that, i knew the game existed but i didnt know it was made by the same devs as witcher, thanks for reminding me about that game
