I really wish "free-to-play" got a different name. Because, yeah, you can play (part of) the game for free, but then they hypercharge you for DLC. Nearly 1000 credits to get all the DLC? Damn.
Worse decision ever for the gamer. Over emphasis on fan service nonsense and micro transactions than making a great fighting game.
Use to love the game as a Virtual Fighter offshoot and competitor to VF and Tekken. Won't touch this current incarnation with a 10 foot pole. You know there was something wrong when they tried to charge for hair color.

I have no problem whatsoever with the fanservice. My problem was the endless, expensive packs of pointless costumes that people loved to buy apparently.

Do people really not realize there was a full release of this game? I've seen this pop up a few times and it always baffles me that people talk as if DOA5 was only F2P. I still have the Last Round disc that includes all characters, maps and most outfits
Truly the best in the series. If you only want one DOA this is the one to get right here.
I (Robin Ek, TGG) was just informed that it appears as if Jonathan Holmes (writer for Nintendo Force and Destructoid) have stated that the DOA series promotes beating of women. So, here's my take on the matter.

The game is actually a very good fighter. It having representation of women with juggling boobs doesn't take away from that.
I will admit though, that they have been trying to exploit the fact that some are fixated with that aspect of the game.
But the game is a very varied and entertaining fighter.
Because being the only 3D Fighting game available on Next Gen consoles could never have anything to do with it
Last Round outselling because it is
-one of the few current generation fighting games available
-it is packed with content
-is more fast paced than other fighters
-is more accessible on the surface level than other fighters
But more importantly, it is selling because:
-IT'S A GOOD GODDAMN FIGHTING GAME AND WHETHER IT HAD TITS OR NOT WOULD NOT HAVE INFLUENCED MY PURCHASE. I GOT LAST ROUND DAY 1 ON PS4 AFTER ONLY HAVING PLAYED THE ORIGINAL RELEASE BACK IN 2012 AND I HAVEN'T HAD THIS MUCH JUST PURE FUN IN A PS4 GAME YET SO STOP BEING IDIOTS AND PREACHING NOTHING

TNA doesn't matter when you match them up with generic face models. Seriously. Are they just replicating mannequins? These games sell because of the gameplay.
The game is selling well because its the definitive edition of a good game. Is that so hard to wrap your head around? Also since when did skimpy costumes equal porn?
