"Puzzle games featuring falling blocks have become a long-standing staple of gaming devices since the introduction of Tetris. Of course, clones of these types of games come and go, most without ever being given a second chance. Puzzle Monkeys, on the other hand, is certainly one of those games that should be given a second chance."

24 years ago, Dr. Mario was released in Europe and has, for a Tetris clone, left quite a legacy behind. Puzzle Monkeys is about to take up the doctor's robe Mario left behind, but can it shoulder it?
NE: "I’ll be completely honest: I didn’t expect to like Puzzle Monkeys. I expected it to be a cheap cash grab, just another in a long line of copies of an overdone style of gameplay. I expected the low production values to lead to a painfully bland and cartoonish visual style and painful music. I expected it to just not be very good. While some of that is pretty true, some of it isn’t. In the end it’s a surprisingly good game, offering just enough quality and options to make it something worth considering."
