The global domination of the Playstation 2 couldn't be ignored, and chances are you too are one of the many owners of Sony's fine little system. Playing host to so many fantastic titles, even now it's likely that each of us only scratched the surface in terms of what the system had to offer. Despite this, it's so easy to move on to new pastures: Our shiny new PS3, Wii, or 360 having relegated the trusty PS2 to a dusty shelf elsewhere as we've bathed in the glow of High Definition visuals and motion controls.
But now ladies and gentlemen, it's time to go back and finish the job. The summer's here, and we've got a few months left till we're going to see the next wave of next gen hits. So fire up the old black beast, and get hitting those bargain bins: We're going digging for PS2 Gems.
First up, grab yourself a friend. It's time for some cheap communist co-op thrills with The Red Star...
The console's library of games may be big, but it can all be played on the same couch. Here is a list of the best Co-Op games on the PS2.
Chalgyr's Game Room writes:
The Red Star is related to the comic series with the same name. The story takes place in an fictional Soviet Union and the heroes struggle both against the oppressive government and other, supernatural threats. When the game begins your military ship is attacked by a government vessel, so it seems you are considered to be a traitor and must face the soldiers who board your ship to survive. After that you go to various places and complete missions relevant to the sinister entity that hides behind the soviet government of terror.
A.J. says: Sony's second mainstream console has one of the most impressive libraries in gaming history. So, I put together this list of five underrated titles that are sure to impress.
Great comic, good game. It does revitalized the top down beat'em ups that have gone away.
Get it while you can!
