5 Games That NEED A Sequel

IM PLAYIN discuss five games (and one extra) that deserve a sequel.

"With the release of The Order: 1886 this week, we saw the continuation of what seems to be the way video games work nowadays; a sudden ending with a cliffhanger that is definitely in place to set up a sequel and, in all likeliness, a franchise. With this in mind, I thought of five games, featuring both games that are part of a franchise already and some that are not, that I’d really like to see a sequel too."

I really want a Timesplitters 4

Man a sequel to L.A. Noire would be amazing. Not necessarily a direct sequel to that game, but the next iteration of the series. Something like N.Y. Noire or Chicago Noire.

crazychris41243767d ago

Chicago Noire would be great during the Prohibition era with Al Capone and other mobsters and we dont get that many games set in Chicago, Watch Dogs was the last one.

contradictory3767d ago

Hehehe, check out "shadow hearts from the new world" there's Al Capone who's friends with a talking anthro cat and it makes perfect sense for some reason. There was also a Ninja that was a real dissapointment because the asshole refused to use normal Katanas and instead used like Bus signs...... what a weird game that was

crazychris41243767d ago

Call me crazy but I would love another Jaws game

contradictory3767d ago

You're criminally insane.
then again i'd love to see someone making modern Scarface(PS2) sequel and nobody in the universe even knows that game so really we're both crazy persons.

Simon's Quest is better than Symphony.

If you're gonna troll, at least make a legitimate attempt.

Levii_9242d ago

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

LG_Fox_Brazil41d ago

That's a pretty fucking great list

__y2jb41d ago (Edited 41d ago )

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.

One of my biggest art heroes. His work and vision were truly one of a kind, and he’s been a huge inspiration to my own work. Such a heartbreaking loss.

Deeeeznuuuts123d ago

Remember seeing Dishonored for the first time when it released, fell in love with the art style straight away, so striking! And because of it, still holds up and will for years to come, RIP Viktor

JEECE123d ago

Yep I remember seeing some of the earliest concept art for Dishonored and hearing that the art director of Half-Life 2 was working on it and being excited.

And you are absolutely right, each of those games (HL2 and Dishonored) has a distinct art style that stands the test of time.

Relientk77123d ago

So sad to hear this. I absolutely love the Dishonored series and love the world and art style. It looks great and unique. I'm still hoping for a Dishonored 3

rokos123d ago

RIP Viktor love your work

Ethereal123d ago

Damn... Dishonored has such amazing art. RIP.

EA Cut Dead Space's Marketing Budget to Pour Into Mirror's Edge Due to Mock Review Scores

Former Visceral Games devs reveal Dead Space's marketing budget was cut in favor of Mirror's Edge because of mock review scores.

Knightofelemia176d ago (Edited 176d ago )

I wish EA would just release a DS2 remake. DS is my favorite horror game and DS2 is the best one in the franchise. But because DS1 failed to meet certain numbers EA scrapped the DS2 remake. SH2 remake was great rumors are Konami might be asking for another SH remake. The RE2 remake was great EA just needs to give it another try. But all they seem to do is shitty sports games that are no different from the year before. Change a few players, add different uniform colours, maybe change a team logo. Wash, rinse, repeat.

goken176d ago

Agreed. DS was great. But DS2 was even better. Would love to see a DS2 remake, though I would love to see a DS4 even more.
The problem with EA is they make easy $ from the slight changes to their sports titles like football FC games (whatever it’s called nowadays). People just lap that sh1t up.
Comparatively, games like DS which don’t sell 10s of millions, can’t sell them team player add ons and all the like, would seem a hassle to make and unappealing comparatively. Especially when you consider that most EA non sport titles haven’t actually performed well recently.

Dark Souls 2, Darksiders 2, Dead Space 2, Death Stranding 2, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2

chicken_in_the_corn176d ago

The Dead space remake was so good. Better than the original. Shame they won't remake 2.

__y2jb176d ago

I loved the original dead space but the remake I just found boring. Game design has moved on and the game really showed its age, just small area encounters repeated again and again.

I bought Dead Space during launch window and I never bought a Mirror's Edge game .

Inverno175d ago

Then they went on to screw both games over.

UnbreakableAlex175d ago

I'd rather see a new and great Mirrors Edge than another boring Dead Space.
