With 2015 now in full swing, we take a look at who we believe will come out on top this year. We will be judging who has the most exciting year in terms of games coming out on the platform not in terms of sales of the console
To early to call which console will have the best. On paper they all look great but we will be the judge when we actually play the games. Love all the games I see coming down the pipeline hope they all turn out to be great experiences.
What a stupid article. The comparison at this point is not fair, firstly because it is waay to early to tell, and Sony will probably release their BIG exclusives throughout this year while Microsoft will release their BIG exclusives during holiday 2015. For example Sony's BIG exclusive the order just came out and next month bloodborne will be released and so on. And Microsoft's BIG Exclusives like Halo 5, Quantum Break, Forza 6, and the timed exlusive Tomb Raider will all be released during holiday 2015
+1 Well said to the both of you. All platforms have a nice lineup due to hit the gaming front by the end of 2015. It's simply too early to tell "who has the best exclusives". Even when their out, it's always going to be subjective and hard to compare imo. Looking like a good year ahead for gamers
Nice one guys Good to read
Like I said in the article they all have excellent exclusives. In my opinion I like the looks of sonys more. It's more to look at the best exclusives of the year.
If you cannot get gaming bluss from either console, then there something wrong with you.... Both have plenty to offer this year.... For me, Quantum would make me want an Xbox, No Mans Sky would make me want PS4..... But then again, overhyped and average?? Who knows........ Thats why te fillers known and Elder Scrolls and Fallout are always needed..... Games can keep you busy for months...
PS4 wins by default because 1080p is exclusive for more games on the PS4 than the XB1. That is also gonna be a factor.
I think PS4 has more deph but XBOX One has Halo 5. I think Bloodborne, Street Fighter V, and Uncharted 4 will be hits, Until Dawn might be a cult hit, I doubt it will be mainstream. The Order already bombed. XBOX One has Halo 5 and Tomb Raider which will be hits especially Halo 5. Forza will be average and Quantum Break or whatever will probably bomb. It's gonna come down to a tag match between Halo 5/Tomb Raider vs Uncharted 4/Street Fighter this holiday and I give the slight edge to Halo 5/Tomb Raider but not enough to change the course of this console race or anything. Edit: to my "personal" taste, I think PS4 wins because of Bloodborne and Until Dawn, I like the horror over the action and Sci Fi.
Yeah, same for Nintendo. Zelda has yet to drop, Star Fox is confirmed to drop before that, and we've still got Xenoblade Chronicles X, Splatoon, and Devil's Third to go before those. And that's not even counting indies. We're gonna have tons of games to look forward to regardless of console, this year.
To my "personal" taste, I think PS4 wins because of Bloodborne and Until Dawn, I like the horror over the action and Sci Fi.
My way thinking to come the conclusion of ps4 having my favourite was if I did not have a console as of yet. Which one would I buy going on the games.
from what we know so far i would say the wii u then the ps4 and finally the xbox one. e3 will be huge this year
Lots of gaming joy this year, but people seem to leave out Nintendo, which has: Devil's Third Zelda Xenoblade X Fatal Frame Splatoon Star Fox Mario Maker Yoshi's Wooly WOrld Fire Emblem, ...
I love games.. Gonna buy them all.
This year is gonna be big cos each console got its flagship title sequel: PS4 - Uncharted 4 WiiU - Zelda U X1 - Halo 5 Those are guaranteed to be successful. For bonus u can throw in Bloodborne, Xenoblade X and Quantum Break, which also will be highly rated. So it seems, nobody is gonna be left behind.
@Magicite - You assume too much - there's no guarantee that Bloodborne, Xenoblade and Quantum Break will be highly rated. That said, Uncharted 4, Zelda and Halo 5 will probably be successful even if they're not highly rated.
Higly rated game * Its not the highly rated BS score that matters but I guess a lot of people still don't get it
When it comes to AAA exclusives that we know of, so far all 3 have delivered for 2015, and are neck and neck. The tipping scale is when you count every exclusive, and that's where the PS4 breaks away because it has a HUGE amount of indies, and non-AAA exclusive coming for 2015. Wii U has a bunch of A-games comes this year, while XBO has a decent amount of indies announced to combat that. 2015 is a great year for any console owner.
its either you do not be on here that much or whatever, but Wii U have a lot of indie games, theres more indie articles on here for Wii U, then there is for ps4, there is a youtube trailer, showing how much it got, so if going by your words that indies help ps4 break away, then that means since wii u have a ton of indies it break away from ps4 and xbox one. remember its 3rd parties that Wii U do not have, indies they have a ton of that and they just keep on coming, they just cancel a vita/ps4 indie other day and made it a Wii U exclusive.....you got to read more articles bro
@Gemmol Including indies, PS4 has around 50 console exclusives announced for 2015. I haven't checked all of Nintendo's, but from what I've seen so far their in the 20 - 30 (most retail games), and so is MS (most indies). Edit Sry I gave an older number, it's up to 70 now. http://psgamer.co.uk/ps4/45...
True but I trust Nintendo more. Zelda U Star Fox U by Miyamoto himself Xenoblade Chronocials X Mario Maker These four are as guarantee as you can get to being fantastic. Then you have potential hits with Itagaki's Devil's Third Yoshi's Woodly World (don't have much faith in Yoshi games but who knows) Splatoon Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem IF it is still coming in 2015 So far released ... Kirby Rainbow Curse > The Order by a good margin in both critic score and in reviewer score. Nintendo's minor problem though is that their attention is split on home console and portables so many of their other strong exclusives will be on 3DS instead of Wii U.
You forgot Fatal Frame: Sodden Raven
Hard to tell at this point. Non of the good games come out till the fall. EDIT @ Efferia, ppl said the same about The Order.
mlb, bloodbourne and axium verge comes out next month. Those are good. Plus any multiplats that come
for now xbox one has my most anticipated titles, if it wasnt for until dawn and uncharted 4 i probably wouldnt want play my ps4 at all at the moment, just completed second son, killzone bored me i will wait for the order to drop in price, had no interest in LBP and driveclub looked underwhelming and already had forza 5, bloodborne is not my cup of tea, but TLOU destroys everything so far, defo one of my faves, game is just too tight ;), i buy all my multiplats on XB1 because i am used to the pad, in my opinion xbox one has the stronger exclusives lineup more so if we are talking about triple A games, at the end of the day this is all opinion though, i have always been an xbox guy, from the first xbox to the latest, playstation(except for PS1 and PS2) consoles always get purchased second, behind xbox consoles
You are one of the lucky ones who has both consoles. Im thinking of picking up a Wii U. they are at a good price now. to go alongside the ps4.
yeah, i am thinking of getting a Wii U in the future
@ Wesker Apparently, by your own words, you haven't always been a Xbox guy first since the PS2 and original Xbox coexisted and you purchased, by the inference of your own words, the PS2 first.
nope, because the xbox original came out a year later and ps2 was the dominant console at that time, soon as the xbox dropped i got one, i owned a dreamcast(well lots of them) as well, so my comment stands true, if the ps2 was the only console at that time and the xbox had not been released until a year later how could xbox be my first choice?
It doesnt matter for me, I own all current platforms. I can say is that by far console exclusives are more fun to play and the AAA level of quality makes it even better. As far as PC "exclusives" go, BHAHAHAHA X'D The butthurt PC fanboys, incoming...
I think it's split pretty evenly. Tho a couple of the biggest ones I'm looking forward to, Ori and No Man's Sky, are both on PC as well.
gears of war collection remastered...... thats all i gotta say men
Fingers crossed, but I don't want to get hyped over something that might not even happen this year!
@Immorals I hope it comes out this year since GOW 4 is coming out next year? Correct me if I am wrong. BTW it's me ih8pa1n I added you on Xbox one several months ago. Sucks that I never got that Xbox preview invite that you sent me but whatever.
For me I would prefer a new gears of war then just playing the same remastered games.
2 remasters I'm hoping for Gears of War and Uncharted.
Not a fan of the souls series, so that counts Bloodborne out for me. No mans sky looks awesome. Never played an uncharted, and wouldn't want to skip to the fourth. On xbox, I've got tomb raider, halo and quantum break. There's also fable legends, but I'll Need to see more to be able to tell if I'll love it.
Haven't played any of the Soul series either due to the extreme difficulty but I'm going to give Bloodborne a shot,I love hack n slash games especially with rpg elements.
They're not as hard as they're made out to be so fear not.
Between XBO & PS4 they're about the same, slowly building up. Nintendo actually has more and of quality, but too many consumers/ gamers don't care for them. Also this is clearly clickbait... watch as it becomes another plague of fanboys.
They dont care for the obvious reason that they dont share the same opinion as you on quality. Simple.
it would not matter if they do not care......right now Wii U have the top 3 selling exclusives, no ps4 game reach 3 million yet, and same for xbox one.....Wii U have 3 games hit sell over 3 million, so its obvious people care
@ Gemmol I didnt say everyone doesnt care. Xol_Reigns said "but too many consumers/ gamers don't care for them" so I just said its because they dont share the same opinion as him on quality. Its not rocket science. edit: oh and PS4 will have way more 3m+ selling exclusives than the wii U in time. Just like with all nintendo consoles, software sales are distributed among a smaller number of games because the variety is not there.
I'm excited to see how well the Nintendo games do this year. Some are new IP's, others are established franchises either getting bigger or taking a new direction. Last year they wowed with some really solid releases, they're flexing a lot of creative muscle this year.
Lucky (or unlucky with the amount of great games coming this year)enough to now own all 3 + pretty decent PC, sadly some exclusives will have to slip as too many coming across the board for my pay grade :D
The Wii U does.
XB1 has some good ones coming up that look interesting But I'm interested in bloodborne and curious to see what else sony will show at e3.
For me its a tough call between the Wii Us and PS4s. That's just my opinion though.
on PS4, Uncharted 4 is the sole reason I'd get a PS4. That's 'cause I'm a fan of the uncharted series. Bloodborne, I wouldn't buy a PS4 for it alone. I'd get it to accompany Uncharted 4. -- On Xbox, Ori 'nd Quantum Break are the exclusives I'm looking to play in the near future. Ori, next month. Quantum Break.. Summer at most. As for third-party.. I'm considering Batman for now.. maybe witcher 3. -- on WiiU, The software line-up speaks for itself. Even tho' I'm not really into these games. I can't fault it. I might have to give the wii U another go. -- Overall verdict: 1. Wii U 2. XO 3. PS4 based on what platforms I perceive will have the most amount of QUALITY exclusives this year.
Xenoblade X Fatal Frame Devil's 3rd Splatoon Fire Emblem ... maybe you are more into these games, if not the Star Foxes, Zeldas, and Yoshis of Nintendo world :)
We all win, hell I may even pick up a WiiU to play Zelda. Awesome lineup from all three.
PS4 has so many exclusive games coming that I even forgot most of then Can someone post a list with all the PS4 exclusives coming?
Every Announced Upcoming PS4 Retail Exclusive as of January 1st 2015: The Order: 1886 (Now Released) Bloodborne Until Dawn Uncharted 4 Ratchet and Clank Re-Imagined Every Announced Upcoming Xbox One Retail Exclusive as of January 1st 2015: Halo 5 Quantum Break Forza 6 Crackdown Scalebound Phantom Dust Not even taking sides, that's the official list for both sides according to all the internet sites, check yourself if you don't believe me, sorry if you don't like it.
You are missing tearaway unfolded and persona5
@ashen122 Tearaway Unfolded is a remaster and Persona 5 is cross-gen, neither of them are PS4 exclusives, the only reason Ratchet and Clank counts is because it's being completely remade from the ground up for PS4.
Tearaway unfolded is a new game. They said it's over 50% new content with the rest obviously improved.
Which ever one has Persona 5.
There can be only one.
They all have great ones. All gamers win in the end.
But, to paraphrase Orwell, some gamers win more than others xD
Haha! I am blessed to have all three consoles and like them for various reasons. Playstation has always been my favorite. Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy PS1, God of War and Shadow of Colossus PS2, Uncharted, Last of Us, Demon Souls PS3, and I'm hoping Bloodbourne for PS4! But I like Halo series and Gears etc on Xbox. And of course I adore Nintendo first party games! You really can't lose with any of these consoles as a gamer. If you can only get one, just choose console that games gear more to you! And happy gaming to all!!!!
Sadly the best exclusive game is still TLOU Remastered.
hard to top that.
Crappest game ever. Very overrated
The games amazing, it's just sad that the best game is a remaster of last gen.
Forza and MLB pretty much cancel out at this point. They're both like Madden they just release every year slightly improved. Also interesting to see how far out MS announces their exclusives. Crackdown, Phantom Dust, and Scalebound are most likely 2016 while Sony does quick turn arounds on games like LBP3 and Bloodborne releasing less than a year after announcement. Most likely we'll get another big one we don't know about in 2015 from them just like LBP3 last year considering they have the largest stable of first party devs and don't split their exclusives up between a handheld and a home console (sad for Vita but true). A man will be buying Mario Party 10, Star Fox, and Zelda U for his WiiU while he'll be getting many indies on PS4 to go along with (unless he sees something disconserting gameplay wise between now and release) Dying Light, Ratchet Reboot, Uncharted 4, and has already been enjoying the Order 1886.
Guess you forgot about the xbox games that were announced then released in under a year later yet there have been plenty of playstation games that get announced years before they get released plus more games seem to get pushed back on playstation than any of the other consoles
there are exceptions to be sure but recent trends favor quicker turnarounds on ps4. xbox is forced to announce farther out to keep up on listwars but through sheer numbers they dont have the number of devs to keep up.
