In today's "Don't try this at home" news, a University study has determined that despite what Assassin's Creed would have you believe, taking a leap of faith into a haystack will probably kill you.

We needed to hear from a University study to tell us this? Seriously?

Relientk773744d ago

How much money did they waste on this

Metallox3744d ago

A bunch of equations. I mean, it shouldn't be that hard to calculate. If you know the height of the building, the material of the floor, the weight of the guy and other stuff you should be served.

PoSTedUP3744d ago (Edited 3744d ago )

i think that: 1 human × very high² + small pile of hay= commonsense³.

bixxel3744d ago

"11k and 2 human lives. "

That explains why there were so many corpses near that university compound..

-Foxtrot3744d ago (Edited 3744d ago )

Meanwhile on an inner body "beach"

Cancer Cell Toby <Checking watch> "Hey didn't mankind say they were going to find a cure to us soon, we've kind of been here a while don't you think"

Cancer Cell Clive <Drinks Cocktail> "Yeah I don't think we have to worry about that anytime soon....just relax and mutate"

DragonKnight3744d ago (Edited 3744d ago )

Has anybody here heard of GameTheory on Youtube? They covered this a long time ago... for free... without needing a University degree to do it either.

I hate Matt Pat personally, but it's a good video.

@-Foxtrot- There's probably already a cure, but modern medicine makes billions off of just treating cancer, they aren't going to give that up by releasing the cure.

in other studies: breaking bricks with your head will give you TBI's and negitive mental health effects.

DragonKnight3744d ago

Tell that to Shoalin Monks.

PoSTedUP3744d ago

funny i thought about that while i wrote it and still went with my bad mario analogy. XD. ok: breaking Huge solid bricks suspended in the air as thick as a cars while jumpinng upwards vertically.

DragonKnight3744d ago

Well, Mario does do it with a fist, so maybe he trained with Shaolin monks? Lol.

PoSTedUP3744d ago

lol. and also i thought for a second he did it with his Head... hah

Professor 1: W=Mg (Plus the added weight of all the weapons the assassin is carrying)
F (reaction force of haystack) << W
Haystack might not withstand the force and break....
Professor 2: Nah,he'll survive it. Go on.
(Specimen jumps.Haystack breaks.)
Professors 1: See? I told you the haystack would break! Wait... why isn't the subject specimen moving?
Professor 2: Let me go check. (He jumps too)

Relientk773744d ago

Obvious statement is obvious

Scottyxboxoneandps43744d ago

Damn!! I was gonna try this out at the weekend!!

kneon3744d ago

As I kid I've jumped off of a barn into a hay wagon without injury.

But that was only a drop of about 15 feet. I'll leave it to others to try the 100+ foot drops we see in the games ;)

DevilOgreFish3744d ago (Edited 3744d ago )

Really? BS, i want to see if this is true. where's my bag of salt first?

Assassin's Creed: The Argument For a Total Franchise Reboot

Assassin's Creed has been hard done by in the past several years despite its success, and as messy as it could be, it might be time for a reboot.

They already did that in 2017 with origins. I don’t think a reboot is on the cards when Ubisoft is about to go down under lol

I hope the splinter cell remake sees the light of day before the company closes

Inverno86d ago

I doubt they'll be closing, but they are primed to be eaten up by a bigger comp. Also 2017 was nearly a decade ago, it could use another reboot or rather it should just be retired.

RaidenBlack86d ago

Origins was the reboot.
But that also alienated the original AC lovers, abit. Not everybody adores the perma-change of the IP to be vast RPGs.
What I instead propose is, alternate between Valhalla/Shadows type AC RPGs and Mirage/ACII like non-RPG releases.

PrecursorOrb87d ago

It’d be nice if they made parkour feel new

monkey60286d ago

Put the series to bed, It's tired! Revisit your stagnant properties.

Profchaos86d ago

What do you do when you've already milked everything dry

Noskypeno86d ago

What is old might feel new again. A new splinter cell with semi open levels but still having a linear structure (not just one giant open world) that have multiple paths to complete the objective but still have stealth be the main priority would feel fresh, especially with modern graphics and military gadgets .

FinalFantasyFanatic86d ago

I agree, from anecdotal evidence, all franchises eventually stagnate, it might be a good time to start something new.

PRIMORDUS86d ago

"it might be time for a reboot." No it might be time to put this shit to rest for a few yrs. A good 4-5 then come back.

Profchaos86d ago

Total franchise reboot. This ac game is basically the hail Mary to keep Ubisoft alive if this fails the share price will be so low they will be forced to sell and likely absorbed into another org as the Ubisoft name carries almost no weight.

Don't get me wrong they will end up selling after ac regardless but it will be the difference of getting the deal they want vs the deal they don't

Tell me how that's going to be significantly different than colonial America. AC is about showcasing different cultures throughout history. They already did Native Americans in AC3, so then just cowboys, outlaws, ranchers, etc? Kinda feel like there's already a game out there that does that really freaking well. Hmmm, maybe the one in the thumbnail?
