New Mevius Final Fantasy Screenshots Show Moogles, And Graphics Way Too Good for a Mobile Game

The latest issue of the Japanese magazine Weekly Famitsu included a few screenshots of the upcoming mobile Final Fantasy JRPG Mevius Final Fantasy, and we gotta give it to Square Enix, it looks almost too good for a mobile title.

Why is this being released on iPhones and not PS4?! Life's not fair... wait, Square's not fair. It's a dangerous trend when devs and switching over more and more of their horsepower to mobile gaming, and that's what SE was doing in the recent years. That's also probably why the previous gen had only FFXIII and the abomination off-spring.

Not directly related to this game but a few days ago the CEO of Square Enix mentioned in an interview that "their goal is to go multiplatform, for example mobile titles would be released also on PS Vita or PS4. Their (mobile) teams are using Unity more and more, which should make it easier."

Mobius Final Fantasy hits Japan on June 4

Mobius Final Fantasy will launch for iOS and Android in Japan next Thursday, June 4, the latest issue of Famitsu confirms.

The game will be compatible with iPhone models 5 and up, and Android phones released in 2012 and beyond.

The story will be chapter-based and distributed at fixed intervals. Time-specific events and jobs are also planned to be released.

Mevius Final Fantasy name changed to Mobius Final Fantasy, 25 minutes of footage

Square Enix gave a gameplay demonstration of Mevius Final Fantasy during a live stream this morning, mainly showcasing the game’s battle system.

During said broadcast, the company announced the game’s name would no longer be Mevius Final Fantasy, but rather Mobius Final Fantasy.
