IGN - The Beyond crew imagines a world where Darren Aronofsky directs the next Gex game.
GamesRadar - For those who haven't yet heard, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Sonic isn't doing too well. After the glitch-filled, barely comprehensible Sonic Boom launched with a fizzle and a whimper, players began to voice concern that there just isn't room for Sonic anymore in the modern gaming landscape. Voiced again, rather, since that same question comes up every time the Sonic series churns out another disappointing title.
Sonic Generations was a fantastic game and proved Sonic could still be a lot of fun, they just need to go back to doing that again!
Deaspwn reports: "Don't call it a comeback just yet, but three legacy IPs may be set to return as Square Enix opens pitches for new Fear Effect, Gex and Anachronox games. They're looking for indie studios to take the franchises forward, whereupon they'll be developed under the Collective program."
Tom Hall absolutely needs to get his hands back on Anachronox, because that game absolutely needs a sequel. Hell, I'd even buy a HD remaster of the original. The gameplay may not have been groundbreaking, but the storyline was fantastic and genuinely hilarious.
Holy! I think what these systems need is a gorgeous new Fear Effect. And the graphics should be as new and fresh as when the whole cell shading was first introduced to us in this game.
Someone needs to jump on this and quickly.
This week's GP Picks recommends Fable Anniversary, Bravely Default, The Wolf Among Us Episode 2 and Gex: Enter the Gecko.
Would love to see Gex come back, and many 90s and 00's platformers
