Just a few more days... Just a few more days... Just a few more... And goodness, the visuals are absolutely incredible. The attention to detail is unmatched imo.
If you make comparison screenshots you might want to use direct feed screens for both and not direct feed screens from one and youtube screen grabs from the other. As you can see in your first screenshot the character model from the Order is blurred and has some macro blocking. The article itself contains pretty much the same close up without all the reduced detail and macro blocking.
Before someone bashes on Blazin. Ryse cutscenes are not real time. I have the PC version and the fps in the cutscenes skyrocket making it clear that they aren't real time.
Don't feed him guys. He's been using those 3 comparison screenshots in almost all Order articles related to graphics for the last month or so. The butt hurt is strong in this one :P
Both shots are real-time. There is no comparison. The Order blows Ryse away.
Edit: It's funny how scared of this game trolls seem to be as it nears release. Shame you can't just enjoy it because you made a bad console purchase decision.
I have the PC version of Ryse and if the framerate in-game is about 50 with everything set to the absolute full and the cutscene jumps to 120fps it's not real time. That it has jaggies doesn't proof that it's real time.
@Blazin_28 "Comparing pre rendered cut scenes in full res to a low res screen shot in realtime..."

A saw almost the full game in YouTube and is a borring and bad game as I say after the first video I saw. It was delayed for a year and is the same shit! It could be so good that I'm angry that is just a mediocre game. http://youtu.be/UUDDLs3wcPI
Why did you spend almost 5 hours watching a boring and mediocre game?
Are you really angry? That would imply you had planned to play it. That brings me back to question one, why would you watch the full game if you plan to play it?
Math isn't your strong point is it? It got delayed from late 2014 to early 2015 that's not a year that's around 3-4 months.
I might also add that you can post as many videos as you want, people who actually intend on playing it won't look at them because they don't want to have anything spoiled. I can watch a 5 hour playthrough of Uncharted and it would be boring.
I hope that everyone who thinks is a good game buys it. Is just me and my opinion.
Is RYSE with guns in 1886.....I hope that when you play it, you enjoy it or otherwise be sincere and say that I had the reason......here, in n4g. I didn't spent all that.....I was interested just in the gameplay.....just like 1 hour.
I don't think photo-realism is even the intent. R@D want the game to look like a movie. Though I suppose you could say a movie is photo-realistic. Hmm.
Did you just compare movie level PRE-RENDERED CGI where processing power is not even an issue (nor the budget)to a real-time running console game because the dev said they wanted to make it look cinematic?
Really now?
I thought you where a tad smarter than that, guess I was wrong.
@ultranova no, i really didn't mean anything like that.
When ready at dawn talk about cinematic techniques I don't think CGI, I just think films. Even live-action films don't look like real life, so I don't think photo-realism is actually what R@D were trying to achieve with their lighting and colours.
The last comment about films looking photo-realistic was just a note our brains do perceive films as looking real, so perhaps The Order could still reach that destination in a roundabout way.
So...yeah I am a tad bit smarter than a plank. Which I take as a compliment. Thanks!
Lets not forget that RAD has never mentioned the word Photo-realistic nor should anyone expect anything close to photo-realism in mainstream games for the next 15-20 years at least.
"The last comment about films looking photo-realistic was just a note our brains do perceive films as looking real, so perhaps The Order could still reach that destination in a roundabout way. "
Ok I get it the key word here is "perception" but let me ask you, you are a long time gamer who is used to CGI images right? When was the last time a CGI scene from a movie fooled you into believing its real?
Personally? Never! Even if a couple of them came close!
As for the order being perceived as photo realistic I have to say no, we still have ways to go even though this entire conversation pays dividends to the amazing job RAD did with it.
And I take back the "tad smarter" thing I said. My public apologies to you Sir :-)
So the question everyone has in mind, how much will we have to wait to have the sequel of Shenmue with the same engine? Pretty please with sugar on top...
Sigh... Why do people keep skipping the word "almost" before "photorealistic" & bashing the article for their own illiteracy.
It looks good & I really doubt it's as short as the videos when people get their hands on it. That's what happens when someone just rushes through a game & doesn't pay attention.
Games last me a lot longer than all of these recorded timings for various games.

It looks photo-realistic... like a painting?
If I were a robot this logical paradox may cause my processor to fry, but fortunately I am not a robot so I'll just stop thinking it through.
What surprise me even more is that the engine was homemade. just like driveclub and infamous.
Someone send those screenshots to the people who went on about downgrades recently because it's all foggy and that they removed the fancy clothing.
