PlayStation Exclusive Persona 5's Fantastic Trailer Gets Translation; Reveals Weapons, Items & More

You’ve all seen the awesome trailer of Persona 5 released a few days ago by Atlus, and you have all drooled a fair amount on it. Yet, Atlus did not think to release an English version, so a lot of the elements showcased in the trailer remain obscure to most, because they’re in Japanese.

The Persona series is amazing. Gamers should stop giving attention to mindless games like COD and play awesome $%^& like this. Why is this not getting more attention and hype is beyond me.

I agree. I'm in the process of finding a way to actually play them, but the reason why I was able to stick with watching an LP of P4G the first time was initially because of the soundtrack. I'm kinda weird like that, but its the first thing I look for. If the soundtrack doesn't pull me in, especially the battle themes (normal and boss), its MUCH harder for me to get into a game, particularly JRPGs. Not impossible, but it definitely takes a lot longer.

If I'm gonna be playing/watching an RPG where countless hours are gonna be spent level grinding and fighting difficult bosses that take 15 mins to beat, I'm gonna need something good to listen to to get/keep me in the mood.

Its why I still stuck it out with the FF13 games, even though I knew the games themselves weren't that great.

Its also why, even after watching two different LPs of P4G and two different LPs of P3FES (max social link runs, no less), I still want to play them for myself.

yeah music is key. persona 3&4's sound track is so good it doesnt get old even 60+ hours into the game. sometimes i play just to wander around inaba or iwatodai to listen to the music and clear my head.

i hope its so good i forget about life, and hygiene, and eating... worst comes to worst ill still have P3& P4, which are still relevant, to keep me confined, dirty and malnourished.

At the end of the trailer, the protag is seen with typical yellow eyes, like shadows have.

Anyway, it's wayyyy too soon to speculate on the persona/shadow/demon mechanics of the game. ;)

oh yeah for sure. but the dungeon shadows seem to have taken on an all new form, like knights or something.

My theory is that they now have the means to make every shadow walk around in dungeons as it's actual sprite. Given how the dungeon we saw kind of looks like a ball room, I wouldn't be surprised if the dancers monster walked around too.

But there's only one thing we can do, wait. :( It's too looooooong...

ah there you go, that makes perfect sense. that will also give us a tactical advantage (e.g. can run away because you dont have Bufu, or something in your party to hit their weakness etc.)

yeah waiting sucks, im gonna be playing p3:p and 4golden while i wait to lessen the blow.

Can't wait to play this game. Loving the persona series since day one. The look , music and gameplay just makes my JRPG sense tingle! Atlus and Sony doing it again. I'll be getting it on the Ps3 for the kids and the 4 for myself. Another Sony exclusive to add to the pot.
