Srry though i really didnt mean it in that way you guys think, its just yes the feature is great, i'm not saying xbox games are bad or anything, its just i pick the game i choose i like that is available on the platform, example wii u got this, and ps4 got that and yes xbox also have great titles, thats why i didnt mention the system, its just that the feature wont determine the factor that i would buy the system, again srry :(

For me its a combination of both. Good games are always priority, but more/improved features also plays a big part.

What I would love to see, but doubt will ever happen, would be an xbox one license that you can buy for your pc to play xbox one games on their. This would allow you to bump the resolution, frame rate and AA. That and picture the mods people could make. I do enjoy xbox franchises but I hate the limitations that come with consoles.

I finally bit the bullet with ps4 because Bloodborne. I'd likely do the same thing with the xbox one when a new gears comes out. I haven't been an early adopter of consoles since dreamcast. With the gaming rig I have, exclusives are really the only reason I purchase consoles.

Xbox One will likely be the first console to allow mods. Since every Xbox One will be able to become a dev kit.

Would be nice, but console games aren't really built like that. Would make more sense to have the PC version be compatible with the X1, and MS just release it's console exclusives directly to windows. For 3rd party though, they would lose the licensing fee, but with some sort of game pass to work on X1 it could cover that. MS may have to add support for PC peripherals though.

From a devs perspective though, if it's available to play on PC, then they have to support the PC players, which costs money in both long term problem fixing, and pre-release testing.

It's a nice thought though. Maybe one day MS, or someone, will figure out how to make that kind of feature happen going both ways(PC->Console, Console->PC) all in one package.

If they do pc to xbox streaming then this gen would suddenly become very interesting, technically it's now possible with xbox to pc so the only issue would be how it would effect Microsofts game sale revenue and if the increased console and live subscription would cover that if it happened.

Its actually already possible with a couple of the Android emulators and the apk from the Xperia phones.. Its super hacky though and I could only half get it working. :)

There's nothing at all stopping them, and i totally expect them to do so if the Xbox equivalent is successful.

I would expect MS to dododgy things though and make bugs with the programe so Remote play on Ps4 doesnt work perfect lol.
on a pc over home network i would expect no loss of quality too.

You are right. Well they could block it on the MS app store, but doubt they would. That side of MS is not likely overly concerned about about Xbox competition, and would just take the licensing fees if Sony made it an App.

If Sony made it an App, then it's even possible to have a remote play app on the X1. There are licensing fees involved in MS app store, but they are pretty minimal. The more likely scenario though would be just a standard program that runs in windows which wouldn't involve fees, which is what most developers would use. On the plus side, a regular windows program won't likely have the .NET overhead you would get with an app.

I think people forgot that when Windows 8 released, developers weren't too thrilled with this whole MS app store principal. Some supported it, but mostly as a side item. This time is really no different in principal, just seems that there isn't much discontent from devs this time around.

Able to stream Xbox games to devices crap PCs and other devices. Play against PC players so more active users. Far more PC games coded in DX12 coming to Xbox. Able to socialise with PC gamers through your Xbox.

Will be great for Xbox gamers with PC, although I'll probably still use PC most still happy to see the intergration. Hope they bring PC to Xbox streaming.

What's funny is Microsoft sees Xbox One, PC, Surface Tablets, WinPhones and anything else that uses the Win10 O/S & DX12 API as a Microsoft platform for all things gaming, social media, apps, cross-play, etc... Gamers see all these things as a seperate entity that aren't associated with one another. For Microsoft, as long as they are all using the same Win10 O/S, all devices should be able to run and play the same things on them. For the XB1 they need to realize that it's competing with the PS4 and Wii U on a different plane and hence it should have its own uniqueness and games that aren't part of any other platform including tablets, phone and PC's. This is the only wait they can push more consoles out the door and into gamers homes. I still think even more PC games will jump to XB1 once devs get comfortable with the O/S and the DX12 API.

I don't plan on buying am X1 in the foreseeable future, until it's at 300 (not trashing the console, just bought a lot of stuff recently don't have the funds really), but this adds incentive. I just wish they would bring all the exclusives to PC too, just as a fan of the IPs and a PC owner :/ x86 architecture is compatible, honestly a straight port would do it for me, I just don't want to have to have a XB1 for those games.

Console vendors do not make significant money from number of consoles sold. They make money from subscriptions to the add-on services like XBL, XB Video, etc. and games that are released.

By broadening the accessibility of games to other platforms MS is expanding the potential market to buy their games. This is why MS makes money and Sony loses money every year. MS realizes that they need more of a market to make money Sony holds on to the limiting idea that you have to buy a Sony device to play Sony games.

Microsoft can easily do both. Expand PC games to the XB1 and keep XB1 exclusives on the XB1 only. The streaming of XB1 games won't hurt XB1 because you still have to buy the game for the XB1 to stream it to other Microsoft Win10 devices. They still need to have a large number of XB1 Exclusive that aren't released on any other platform. They can release some PC exclusives as well. Those games could be streamed to other platforms. Eventually, i think some form of a Steam app will make it's way onto M$ Win10 devices and systems.

Sure...if devs pay the license fee to use the windows 10 platform, then MS sees it as all one platform.

That was MS intention with Windows 8. They wanted licensing fees from developers for programs written for Windows. Since they couldn't do it with the traditional windows that everyone liked, which was already open and free to use, they made Metro, and all it's App store clone glory.

MS couldn't just get rid of the standard desk top though, so game devs ignored Metro and MS new money making desktop. It'll probably be the same this time. The apps will be there, but on PC, the majority of people will still use those standard programs and not fuss around with the App store.

Metro was horrible for PC as it took a multi-tasking machine and made it into what amounts to a tablet. Windows 10 improves on it, but it still has a long way to go IMO...particularly from a productivity user stand point.

Some aspects of this cross-portability of Windows functions/features that are around in Windows 10 do not work themselves that great into a high performance game scenario. The new Metro(since I don't know what they're actually calling it), is heavily dependent on .NET, which is a horrible language for high performance games.

People can laud DX12 all day long, but devs aren't going to write their games to support .NET just for some cross portability of games. It would completely defeat the purpose of having a low level API. Games on the X1 aren't going to be written for Windows 10 either. Windows 10 will exist entirely for the user's front end and system functions, and the hyper-visor will likely have to surrender control over to game programs or else it just takes too much of the system resources away from the actual reason the game consoles exist...and that's to play games.

People seem to think this is something. First off why would I want to stream Xbone games to my PC? If I wanted to play on my PC then I would play the actual PC software with better performance and mods. Also why play games on a smaller PC monitor when I can play on the living room big screen? Lastly I wouldn't want to introduce Windows vulnerabilities into my gaming ecosystem.

The only option that makes sense is to make the Xbone the real Steam machine. Streaming PC games to the living room is the only good option.
