Rappler had a chance to take both games for a spin during an exclusive media event held at Imperium e-Sports bar and Video Game Lounge.
I think both games will be great. Bloodborne will be challenging as hell and satisfy every gamer who loves hard to beat games and Souls fans. The Order 1886 will be a heavy story driven games that will satisfy those who yearn for a great single player experiences like Bioshock or TLOU. I really hope both games becomes commercially and critically successful games.
Yup, I totally agree on both counts. The single player genre needs a shot in the arm to prove to publishers that its still a viable market. I do my part by buying these games day one (assuming the games are quality well built experiences), hopefully other like minded players will do the same. I'm not ready for the future of every game being always online or multiplayer only or pay to win or mmo or what have you, the problem is that single player games don't have the benefit of that persistent revenue from online subs & microtransactions, so these games will need to sell twice as well to prove they are still moneymakers so I'm really hoping they sell gangbusters.
In the case of The Order depending on how it ends I hope there will be DLC that actually adds to the experiance like Last of Us: Left Behind did. Also hope there will be a new game plus, I'm really not a multiplayer guy except for the occasional BF4 match. And most of the time in co-op I find I have to deal with other people's stupidity, (come on it's tough dealing with my own) and it ruins it. Needless to say I'm really excited for this SP game.
@letthewookiewin Haha yup, that's pretty much me too. About the only co-op I can do is in the same room w/ my brother while we co-operatively fail at whatever we are trying to do. For some reason I hadn't even thought about dlc for The Order but now that you mention it, I'd say that game would be ripe w/ potential for it. The multiple characters & deep storyline are practically begging to be expanded upon, The main game could be 40 hours and judging by a lot of the prerelease stuff from the devs, they'd still have plenty of story to tell. Then there's all of the cool weaponry, a dlc could add even cool guns & devices that would be interesting. Don't wanna put the cart before the horse but I'm really thinking this is a game world I'd really like to revisit after the main story.
bloodborne we all expect to be amazing but i think its The Order 18886 that will surprise many. I can see and expect the order to get mostly positive reviews Its ready at dawns first game on home consoles, so give hem a chance. They will only get better and i can see sony buying them
The Order will most definitely provide a memorable experience. So looking forward to it! Crossing my fingers for DLC. If anyone hasn't checked out their newest website, do it! It'll be obvious to anyone that RAD does have plans to continue this franchise. Stoked!
Well said Dark Ocelot. Bubs up for u. I'm really excited for the order. I love a great story above most everything else and it would appear that there's a solid game and second to non graphics to go with the story. I'm pumped to give it a go.
Thank you :) I am very excited for The Order too.
I stopped reading as soon as I came across this: "The game runs at 30 frames per second, ideal for achieving a cinematic feel." Riiight. Sounds to me like the author was parroting a press-release from the developer. And to compare this game to Bioshock has got to be the most ridiculous thing i've ever read. I know it's knit picking, but Nikola Tesla was living and working in the United States in 1886, the year he founded Tesla Electric Light & Manufacturing. Kinda lame when Dev's put famous people in countries they never lived or worked in. Had the setting been France in 1882, it would have at least been historically accurate.
Wait...are you seriously nitpicking the historical accuracy of a game that prides itself on an alternate historical timeline? What is this I don't even...
@Andrew Why are you so negative on a game you clearly said you will buy day 1? " The game looks incredible. I'll be getting it the day it's released for certain." I honestly cant tell if you are serious or trolling sometimes lol.
Yes... Because they had Airships, Subways, Arc Guns, and fully automatic rifles in 1886... Nikola Tesla working in Britain is the only thing that seems a bit historically out of place there... -_- Maybe I'm crazy because I'm gonna guess here, and it's a really wild guess, but this might NOT actually take place in the real 1886. IS your mind blown, because mine sure is.
30FPS is the point when you need to consider upgrading to a better system, not aiming for it as a standard lol. Sad that people defend this. Awesome games = Linear, QTE, No coop, no PvP, 6h-8h Another mediocre game destined for the bargain bin in under 3 months aka. Uncharted.
@AndrewLB "I know it's knit picking, but Nikola Tesla was living and working in the United States in 1886, the year he founded Tesla Electric Light & Manufacturing. Kinda lame when Dev's put famous people in countries they never lived or worked in. Had the setting been France in 1882, it would have at least been historically accurate." It's a video game not a biography... You do understand that most video games are fictional? Take Dying Light for instance. Do you see Zombies running around in central Europe? How about The Last Of Us... I'm sure you do realize that a fungus that infects the brains of insects probably wouldn't have much of an effect on the human brain. Fiction isn't a new concept, it's been around for thousands of years. You need to find another hobby.
Bloodborne>>>the order bloodborne is for those who want to know a good gameplay "hardcore gamers" the order is for casual gamers who just want graphics instead of the rest.
Bloodborne is for those who know what to expect from Miyazaki. The Order: 1886 is for those who know what to expect from a linear third-person action-adventure game (as defined here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum... ). Yeah... I think we're past the point of the "gameplay" argument being used against it. The vast majority of the latest impressions have rated the gameplay as solid and satisfying, whilst the graphics and story are so immersing that sometimes they have no other impact but to overcome the gameplay. I don't care. I know I want to experience this game. The fact that both these games are releasing as big PS4 exclusives within a month of each other, is testament to the diversity of PlayStation brand, and as such defies the casual label. I'm looking forward to both and I'm certainly not what is defined as casual.
the order is another Ryse, driveclub and killzone SF, amazing graphicz, but sucks on another things. Linear, QTE, No coop, no PvP, 6h-8h is to small. Another medíocre game
@ic3fir3 "Linear, QTE, No coop, no PvP, 6h-8h is to small." Yettttttttttt I loved wolfenstein and countless other titles ooooooo so gtfo so to you every game needs those to be good boy bye👋 .
"No coop, no PvP" Please stop talking, as will I
Lol this guy.
"Lol this guy." It is quite satisfying that we will never have to read an informed opinion by this person. This is particularly true concerning The Order. I am quite happy with his and similar opinions because then The Order becomes like a secret which you do not have to share with those that do not deserve to hear it.
ic3fir3 Funny, you just described Bioshock (just substitute QTE for pipedream hacking). Don't think that game got any flak.
<<Insert The order 1886 is Ryse, QTE 6-8 hours looooong lol no gameplay only graphics comment here>>
What a stupid comment. unappreciative gamers like you should stop playing video games
Yea I just wonder why people bother replying instead of just flagging it as trolling
Bloodborne and the Souls series >>> 99% of games, so that's not saying much.
go play cod!
im probably a bigger "hardcore gamer" than you and im getting both games ic3fir3, U MAD BRAH? yeah? that's what i thought!
I have been playing games for 35 years , and i want to play both.
Now people will start to complain of The Order: 1886 because there is no PvP? The haters are looking desperate now.
the haters and negative nancys are blatantly straw grabbing at this point.
I feel like the director of bloodborne is making his series play more like the dark fantasy manga bezerk. Large weapon on one arm, gun on the other, and can move at high speeds despite the massive weapon. If we can get gut's arm cannon I will be sold 20times over and make me a guts character Actually I think from software should make their next release a berzerk game. Just mod it to be berzerk story and character that would be the best thing ever as the current gamplay would work quite well. Sadly I know that will never happen
Looking forward to both. It's looking like a very nice line up for early 2015 so far.
While i had my doubts about this game I'm very quickly starting to change my mind. Can't wait to try this game out.
the order is a good old fashioned single player game that you can play through. not every game needs multiplayer and be open world and crafting.....
They do when you're an MS fanboy and don't own a PS4.
WTF do "MS fanboys" have to do with an article about Bloodborne and The Order? Seriously gtfo with your negativity. Back on topic - These games look promising, we'll see how they play out when released. 2015 is a great year to be a gamer.
@Stiffler - "WTF do "MS fanboys" have to do with an article about Bloodborne and The Order?" I guess you could ask them. They're here as usual.
@Mystic Well quote them, screenshot them because you must be looking at another article. You people are way too overly defensive. Just enjoy your games and stop giving fanboys any attention because it makes matters 10x worse. I feel sorry for you that you succumb to anything fanboys say.
@Stiffler You attack me, when there are literally hundreds of accounts blasting PS4 exclusives prematurely, while also making up ridiculous, hypocritical reasons why the games suck? And I am the negative one? O you're an MS fan, be quiet. Get a grip.
You call me a MS fan and to get a grip? I'm one of the most unbiased users on N4G, open up your eyes. I indeed use MS products - my GTX 970 G1 powered by windows, I have an X1, 360 and a Lumia 930. Tell me what that has to do with anything? I also own a Sony TV, oldschool walkman, PSP...The list goes on. Your argument is desperate and you literally have NOTHING on me. I show no bias, read my comment history and stop trying to point fingers. The same cannot be said about you, you clearly hate any xbox users just by skimming over your comment history. How pathetic you are, I feel sorry for you.
Exactly father merrin, bubs up for well said.
I personally think people should wait until it's out before going on about how great these games will be. Im hoping for the order is great but there's no way I'm gonna start preaching about it before I've played it. Made that mistake before..
I'm sure there's a lot people that post here like myself that grew up playing only single player/couch co-op or just passing the controller when you couldn't get through a certain part. I'm all for games like that but this generation or as console generations progress, it seems like " gamers " think that developers should be gods and be able to create experiences beyond their means. People these days and it seems like the kids who were brought up in the PS2/PC/Xbox era are just expecting way too much. There's that saying. Your computer is only as smart as the person using it.
aren't you guys not worried about posting on to coments? you know... game is closer than ever and there are some people playing it already. with immature and childism from other people, we might get spoiled by trolls :/ i don't want my experience ruined by dumb hater people who doesn't even have a ps4 or are interested on to1886. Based on some stupid coments from trolls i read past few weeks and until now, this gives me some concern. i think i will leave n4g TO coments for a while
"The game runs at 30 frames per second, ideal for achieving a cinematic feel." Keep telling yourself that.
Give us more news on Order. Only four news at once in the header is not enough!
Bloodbourne's more my speed. Love tough-as-nails RPGs much more than third-person shooters, personally.
N4G response to The Order and Bloodbourne commercial performance is going to be an atomic bomb. So many articles and general hype on this site, if any bad news for Sony comes out of these two games and how they sell, it's going to be quite the fanboy throw-down. That said, from a critical and personal opinion standpoint, I have 100% faith in Bloodbourne's quality (hopefully proven when reviews hit). Not sure about The Order just yet, but it's got some serious promise. In the end, hopefully PS4 gamers get a winning February with two top-notch titles. We'll see.
I was gonna pick up The Order until I found out it has no replay-ability. I'm not just dropping 60+bucks for 5 hours worth of gameplay. Also the guy creating this decided this would be barebones just to see how it would sell and that he'd put in more content on the sequel. That is pretty insulting tbh. The nerve of some devs. Maybe when it goes on sale for 20 dollars I'll give it. But yeah it looks great I guess?
How do you know it has only 5 hours worth of gameplay? No where did the dev say that the game would be barebones just to see how it would sell. Don't buy it if don't want to but stop spreading bullshit like this.
First players are claiming it is 8 hours. This is a cut scene heavy game. I'm expecting actual 5 hours of gameplay. Second I'm not lying about why the guy omitted MP. If you followed up on the game you'd know that. Third don't take my complaint as a customer as if you made the actual game. http://www.onlysp.com/user-... Here.
It has 10 hours of gameplay and replay-ability for the second playthrough youre going to choose the other outcomes on the QTE's Just an example: Someone attacks Galahad with a knife. He blocks it but both drop their weapon. Then you can choose to pick up the knife or break his neck There will be a lot of those moments where you need to choose.
http://www.onlysp.com/user-... @ Jayszen. Also read on the devs interviews. Jesus this is a gaming news site from around the net and you guys are quiet out of the loop.
waiting for the Order:1886
The amount of bullshit the Order: 1886 has generated on most sites has been extraordinary. The game has been criticized from minor playthroughs and yet it looks so much better than any other game released on the PS4 or any other console so far and I cannot believe that a fine developer like Ready at Dawn is going to give us anything other than a quality game that is enjoyable on all fronts - the gameplay, graphics and fun. I pre-ordered it way back in June 2013 and I am looking forward to it on the 20th. No where does the developer say that the game first game in a projected franchise will be barebones just to see how it would sell and the game certainly has been confirmed to have a lot, lot more than 5 hours gameplay within and anyone who trys to convince me of this is a troll and a hater. There is no way anyone can know just how good or bad this game is until it is released and has been played by for more than just an hour or two. I choose to keep my faith in the devs and their previous work and Sony overall.
its been already confirmed to be 10hours + on second playthrough youre going to choose the other possible scripted QTE's outcomes so its basically 20 hours gameplay time if you want to see everything.
This game and bloodborne going to be amazing. I recently bought a ps4 for bloodborne, now I will get this game too.
Get The Last of Us and InFamous Resogun Strider Transistor
The hype is real. Can't wait for this and Xenoverse. Hope it lives to expectations ^.^
I'am a gamer sinds like 1976, and i will buy both. The Order, like it has almost the same gameplay like tLoU witch i LOVE, and i love A good story. And i Will buy Bloodborne...... its a Souls related game.
