Is Dying Light Just Another Dead Island?

Well, to be honest, it borrows heavily from Dead Island but since they were both from Techland, then its ok. I Loved the original Dead Island slightly better than Dying Light but i think Dying Light is a great game but unlike Dead Island, It not advertised falsely. I got Dead Island because of that awesome trailer.

Having played both, I would definitely say Dying Light is the better game. The parkour gameplay alone far exceeded any and all expectations I had for how the character moves through the environment. The story has it's fair share of twists and turns too.

Dying Light is much better than the Dead Island games by making the world alive (mostly). The side quests introduce meaningful characters with their own decent storylines. The zombies are presented in a way that when you see something besides a standard slow zombie, you immediately get a gauge of your surroundings because you actually fear these things. At least until you become super powerful.

Dying light is truly one of the best games ive played of this gen. The game is just damn good. If you are into the zombies, crafting, hunting, etc this game is a must buy. The storyline is interesting, its a pretty difficult game (especially in the dark) and it offers a ton of value. The coop is one of the best ive ever seen(I am on Xbox One and it runs flawlessy, played with a group of friends last night). Its just a great game, such a pleasant start to 2015!

Yes, it even has the same bugs. I guess the devs managed to fool people at least. Now people who hate Dead Island like Dead Island and when the next REAL Dead Island game in the series comes out people will bash it because what they thought of the last Dead Island game even though they were really playing the last Dead Island game that they loved which was called Dying Light at the time.

TL;DR = Devs made people love the same game that they hate.

I just beat Dying Light and found no bugs like Dead Island. Gamers need to quit talking down this game thinking it is another bugfest Dead Island, they don't know what they are missing(they are missing a really good game). Techland already explain why the Dead Island series was so buggy. It was because time constraints and the publisher Deep Silver wanted the game to be rush for release. You should be blaming Deep Silver for this not Techland. SMH!

I liked Dead Island so it being similar but improved is a good thing not bad. I remember the zombies looking more gruesome and real in DI though. Here so far they look like white plastic.

No, its not.

Honestly- this is the most immersive game ive ever played. When your out and about and night hits, its terrifying. Especially if your able to transfer yourself into a game and create consequences for yourself.

You dont need to use all the silly electric weapons and stuff like that. It gives you theoption to play a very realistic game.

I love this game. I went back and looked at dead island and theres no comparison graphic wise (obvious statement).

It is very immersive, especially when using some decent headphones with the music turned off. I like the music a lot actually, it reminds me of an 80's zombie movie soundtrack (Day of the Dead specifically) with some middle eastern flavor, but turning it off really lets you hear a lot of little details in the environment's audio. I was picking a lock today and heard one of the slower zombies getting closer and closer. Good stuff.

Dying Light separates itself because I actually am intrigued and some what emotionally involved with the story.. Some of the side quest characters are really hilarious also.

Techland took cues from other franchises for Dying Light.. and it works.. the obvious Dead Island, and you got Mirror's Edge, and you also got a FarCry vibe throughout the background via the background music and menu music and the main character talking.

to me it runs smoothly and the traversal around Harran feels natural.. I personally don't use the grappling hook all that much because I just love to climb up shit the normal way.

I mean the crafting is off the chain and the many easter eggs like mario, TLOU, plants vs zombies, etc... are just awesome.

I've put in about 38 hours now just dicking around. Outside of some known "trophy glitchs" which are preventing people from getting the platinum I've had no problems at all.

The co-op also works flawlessly. In the generation that is known for games not working on DAY 1. I can tell you that Dying Light Co-Op worked on Day 1 and still works just fine... Unlike some other recent releases (FarCry 4 - cough, cough)

Dead Island was a journey through the mundane.

Dying Light adds depth, replay value, and that fluid parkour movement in first person, which adds tension to the game when climbing and fighting enemies.
