Xbox One vs PS4 - Which game console is best for 2015?

With two Christmas seasons under their belts the latest consoles from Microsoft and Sony should be well bedded in. However, little in the way of exclusive software has really blown us away, while a number of buggy releases from big publishers also tarnished the new generation. Still we've had a blast playing some great games, and it looks like the real next-gen heavyweights are about to descend en masse. In short, there's never been a better time to buy.

Which ever fits your taste.

VenomUK3786d ago

It really is as simple as that!

If you want to expand on it slightly, buy the console that has the most games you want.

Gazondaily3786d ago

Or buy all 3 muhahahaha (and be broke for life!)

bouzebbal3786d ago (Edited 3786d ago )

i'm gonna buy New 3DS, so i think 3DS will take the spot for me this year cause there are SO MANY games i wanna play on it, mostly the 3 Zeldas and JRPGs (Dragon Quest etc...)

freshslicepizza3786d ago

i would say the ps4 is off to an early lead for 2015 if we were going by games. head to head match-ups continue to give the ps4 an edge and exclusive games coming such as the order and bloodborne will be coming soon. knowing microsoft they will bundle most of their exclusives in the fall again.

e3 will be evry cool this year though with hololens and project morpheus taking centre stage i would think.

Letthewookiewin3786d ago

I don't understand why were continually asked this question. It's like they are up to something.....

christian hour3785d ago

Am I dreaming? Am I even on n4g? Loving all the top comments from sensible folk :) Afraid to read down any further in case I bare witness to the usual flame war drivel.

As everyone before me said, whichever one you're more inclined towards, will be the best game console for 2015, and if you're fortunate or determined enough to own all the consoles, more power to you! I'll join you some day (been a multi console gamer my whole life, this gen I'm off to a slow start with just the one, but I'll get there eventually :D)

Amen brotha! Either that or the Dreamcast!

Stiffler3786d ago

Exactly! Different flavours for different folks. There is no 'better' or 'best' all around.

They both have brilliant games for different audiences.

Jdoki3786d ago

Well said.

It's a ridiculous discussion.

For me each console is looking good. 2015 looks like it's going to be a much better year for XB1 and PS4 than 2014.

Letthewookiewin3785d ago

Ya, one of my best bud's only has an X1, I'm a Sony guy, and we're still friends. Crazy I know! I agree with you though it's going to be a great year for everybody.

I think ps4 is the 2015 console of choice and also going to get a alien alpha

zerog3785d ago

You can build a better pc then the alpha cheaper. Check out the pc part picker website and put in all the components you want and it will tell you whats compatible and where the best prices are.

kayoss3786d ago (Edited 3786d ago )

You seem surprised by this. Wars goes on for years. A good example is the PS3 vs Xbox360. Even today, when the next gen are released. People are still talking about last gen's console war that is still going on. Expect this gen's console war to last a while, until we have a clear winner. This is the only way we can satisfy the loyalist. Until then, put on your hard hat choose your battle but be prepare to defend which every you decide to choose with your life. LOL ridiculous right??

christian hour3785d ago (Edited 3785d ago )

Theres never been a "winner", the console war is an ongoing phenomenon where no true winner is ever clarified, there is no official committee who's word is law on handing out such a victory, it's all just opinion pieces and it just continues on in to the generations that follow.

At the end of the day the console war is perpetuated by the media as easy click bait and by rabid fan boys who buy in to the whole thing. There will never be a console war "winner" for any generation.

Not even by comparing sales figures and user base or number of games, its as futile as comparing dick sizes and as infantile as a pissing contest.

Live and let live, let people enjoy their games, but at the same time don't let companies bully gamers in to thinking they know what is best for us.

If we stand united and raise our voices, they'll do good by us to improve their console for the better and improve their relations with the consumer (e.g what we've witnessed happen with the XB1 over the last 2 years since it's unveiling.)

kayoss3785d ago

@christian
Not true. PS1 and PS2 were declared winners back in the days. Once PS3 and Xbox360 stopped being produce and the final sales numbers are in, then we will know who is the true winner for that gen. The Ps3 and Xbox360 are an exception because they are so close in sales numbers.
A true winner can be declared if the competitor runs away with the sale numbers. Currently the PS4 have over 7 million consoles more than the X1 but it still early in the gen.

christian hour3783d ago

Sales figures determine a "winner"? Since when has this been the case? Plenty of terrible things sell like hot cakes and plenty of great thigns get sorely overlooked despite being critically praised (psychonauts, for example). And who decalred the ps1/2 the winner? Some sort of overseeing eldar council of gamers? The console war is a drawn out age old media gimmick people are still biting in to, there are no "winners" in a fabricated war about consumerism.

Genuine-User3786d ago (Edited 3786d ago )

I am a multiplatform gamer and fortunately I own almost every current gen console. But If I could only pick one, It would be the PS4.

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen3786d ago

This type of question isn't even relevant any more.

Which console is better PS4 or XB1?

Subjective, completely depends on individual tastes.

Which console has the best games PS4 or XB1?

Subjective, completely depends on individual tastes.

Which console has the largest selection of games PS4 or XB1?

PlayStation 4 Fact.

ShottyGibs3786d ago

Largest selection of games doesn't mean squat. Look how many crappy games are realeased on Steam every day. There's like 10 new games everyday.. out of those maybe 1 is worth your time

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen3786d ago (Edited 3786d ago )

This discussion has nothing to do with PC or Steam, but since you brought it up...

When you go to the grocery store and you're looking for a bag of potato chips would you prefer to only have a choice of plain, salted, unsalted, with or without ripples, or would you rather have a selection that includes BBQ, Sour Cream & Onion, Cheddar Cheese, Spicy, Salsa, and Ranch?

Don't ever say that having a large selection to choose from "doesn't mean squat," because rational thinking people will know that you're lying through your teeth.

BitbyDeath3786d ago

Smaller selection of games means you are less likely to receive that one good game. Going by your logic buying one lotto ticket gives you a higher chance of winning the jackpot than buying multiple lotto tickets. It doesn't work that way.

Clunkyd3785d ago

In that case, Mobile has the most shovelware followed by PC.

But theres more chances of a decent game coming out of that even though its not big budget like console exclusives.

DLConspiracy3786d ago

Well that started off great... You did 180 at the end.

Thought you might have grown a little.

Magicite3786d ago

As a JRPG fan, PS4 is a no brainer for me (in not so distant future).

ShottyGibs3785d ago (Edited 3785d ago )

@ IGiveHugs2NakedWomen

Having choice is great. But having a massive selection of average games unfortunately doesn't suddenly make any of them good, or increase the likelihood.

It doesn't even increase the chances, it's not spins of roulette or hand of blackjack. It's nothing to do with chance - are we in a casino now? These are products being put out by teams who are crafting games, not rolling dices based on odds.

In fact the chances of having that good game among them grow slimmer as a percentage with more average games added.

I know. It's hard for you follow, especially when your so invested in only one platform.

@ BitbyDeath

I stand by my statement. Having a large pool of games doesn't suddenly increase the good games available. It simply means there is more variety of crud to sift though to find a good game.
