A nostalgic look back at Sony's widely acclaimed Playstation Portable system, through the eyes of an adolescent gamer that once was.
I loved my PSP (and still do today), probably my favorite system after the PC. It had a very nice variety of games, from smaller portable-focused games like Lumines, Locoroco and Patapon, to bigger budget titles like Syphon Filter, Crisis Core and Type-0 (thank God for that fan made English patch).
The PSP was a great system indeed.
Yessirs! And as I said, I certainly feel it deserved much more. They could have done a much better job with older games and continued shelling out newer ones.
It was the only portable system from another company that challenged the Nintendo DS juggernaut. Although it didn't win the sales race it put up one heck of a fight. A very under rated handheld with some of the best games for any portable system. Any owner of a PSP should be proud to have one. It's like a nut u can take outside! (love those squirrels!)
I owned multiple PSPs over the years and my favorite would have to have been the PSP Go. I loved the form factor and built in storage. The PSP, like the Vita was never really exploited by Sony. If Sony ever make a next generation portable (unlikely) then I hope they ditch proprietary memory cards and provide out of the box support for mainstream video and audio formats.
Gawd, I love my PSP. I've kept mine as a starter handheld for my kids!
Great idea...but can just see it now...daddy, the touch screen isn't working :-)
"Daddy, the internet isn't working, oh wait."
Love my PSP, Street fighter Alpha 3 on it is so good.
