So as much as I love the original game I still think that multiplayer should have been added....I heard rumors that the update would have just that. Is it still happening or is it still a single only experience?

This is just an update of the original, maybe state of decay 2 will have multiplayer.

I think I remember a rumor that their next game will be co-op or MMO type. I don't remember where I saw it but I vaguely remember.

I gave Undead Labs the pass though cause they sincerely wanted to deliver co-op. But it sounds as though they weren't given the green light.

One would think that their game getting ported over to nextgen would mean MS has given everything a green light, but I presume they didn't - and Undead Labs is still pushing for it.

There is a great interview with Undead Labs via IGN's podcast unlocked like two weeks ago. They addressed the whole MP / Coop being missing. Basically their response was that trying to shoe horn in coop/mp into a game that was originally not designed with that in mind would be difficult and buggy. They preferred to keep the game as is and on their next game it is going to baked into the game from the get go. They already talked about their next game before way back and that it would be a MMO style game ...likely an MMO version of State of Decay.

The worst thing about this game is a real time resource decay system that simply punish the player for not being in game and gathering crap to keep the NPCs happy. It's like a second job that slave you to playing the game or else bad things will happen at the shelter. For that reason alone, there's no way I'm touching this without PC mods.

Hope this means State of Decay 2 is on the way This game is amazing, all I wish it had was online.
