Indie games have become almost guinea pigs in the gaming industry. Once focusing on concepts tried and tested such as platforming games and the like, independent developers of today are taking much more risk than former indie devs used to take, often coming up with a new mechanic or gameplay feature which steals the show for that particular game’s audience. Nihilumbra is one of these games which, thanks to its own particular mechanic, seeks to entice players into its darkness.
The Switch is really hitting it’s stride with Indie platformers recently. The latest to meet the requirements is Nihlumbra. Players will be using the touchscreen and controls to navigate this interesting and dark world. But does this game have enough to make it stand out from the crowded Indie library on the Switch?
Geez this is a slow game... If you even call it a game. It feels like a quick unfinished experiment. Anyway, overrated in this review especially for a phone game..
The award-winning platform adventure Nihilumbra is now available for Nintendo Switch digitally via the Nintendo eShop for $7.99 / 6,99€ / 5,99£.
