The Co-op Podcast #105: Can Uncharted 4 & Halo 5 Become Game Changers?

Mr. Kennedy of The Koalition writes:

Welcome to another episode of The Co-op Podcast. On this week’s show, Richard Bailey Jr. and Gary A. Swaby talk about the highly intriguing Uncharted 4 outselling Halo 5 article penned by Tony Polanco. 343 Industries ongoing issues with their Halo: Master Chief Collection has definitely angered many. Will Halo 5 multiplayer suffer the same fate and if so how will this impact both Microsoft and Sony’s direction moving forward.

On a bigger note, we also discuss the likelihood of Uncharted 4 and Halo 5 becoming game changers for both platforms. Are these games destined to define this generation or will they only be quality sequels from franchises we care about and nothing more?

The last few topics this week include:

Our response to PlayStation Vita losing You-Tube, Near and Maps. Is this a sign that the handheld is in trouble?
Our thoughts on Spotify coming to PS4.

I said it on the podcast and I'll say it again, 343 better make certain that Halo 5 multiplayer works at launch. One can't assume all will go well because Master Chief collection has proven otherwise.

As for the games themselves, both Halo 5 and Uncharted 4 will most likely be great sequels but nothing more. They definitely won't change the landscape and define this generation as far as being new and innovative. The game that does that is still yet to be determined.

Uncharted 4 and Halo 5 are the biggest exclusives releasing this year on their respective consoles. While these titles may not bring anything "new and innovative" (let's wait and see though) they will undoubtedly both be incredible games.

Romudeth1449d ago

Both games will keep doing what is expected of each series. They're not going to change anything.

In Uncharted 4, the gunplay, animations, and traversal all look much better than in Uncharted 3.

From what I've played of the Halo 5 beta, the MP is a huge improvement over Halo 4s.

While both series may not change significantly, they are both advancing their gameplay formulas and becoming better overall. What else should we expect from sequels?:)

Romudeth1449d ago

I agree with you. Both will advance the series but in terms of "changing the game" neither of them will do this. Nothing wrong with that though as long as each title is solid.

No, Uncharted 4 isn't going to change anything. Uncharted will be linear, predictable, no campaign co-op mediocre multiplayer.

Romudeth, Halo always innovates, you don't know this because you've never beaten one of them.

And, great show!

It's gonna be a close call, but either way, I'll be happy :)

No, they're going to stay the same. Duh

TheLastColossus1449d ago

Halo 5 is the "Halo" version of AW and Titanfall, nothing else.

christocolus1449d ago

huh? lmao. what does that even mean? why don't you for once try posting something relevant/sensible instead of downplaying anything related to xbox.
