Maximum PC: Sometimes the tech world can be like a geek version of a soap opera, and this is one of those times. The main characters in this case are Nvidia and the GeForce GTX 970. If you're looking for a quick summary of events, it's this: Gamers noticed a slowdown in performance when games tried to access more than 3.5GB of memory on the GTX 970. This in turn led to Nvidia explaining a new memory architecture in the GTX 970, along with clarification of specs that were different than originally reported. In light of all this, there's a petition floating around demanding a refund for anyone who purchased a GTX 970, but to really understand what's going on, a deeper explanation is necessary.

We’re an insatiable lot, us PC gamers. Nvidia gives us the fastest GPU that’s ever been produced and what’s my response? 'What happens if I strap two together?'
PCgamer:
"Got some spare cash burning a sizable hole in your pocket? That's lucky, because Nvidia's latest supercomputer graphics card has just arrived. This time, it's got an X tacked onto to the end. You know. For extreme."
Sounds great but I still want to wait it out for more options to become available for 4k60fps. Still arent that many monitors with 4k, 120+ fps, G sync and an IPS screen and games are just starting to offer support for it. Maybe next year things will change with Intel's Skylake, DX 12 and more new tech on its way.
For the price just buy a AR-15 or Ak 47 & a nice aimpoint or eotech for the same price. Or buy you a acog for the price cant spend this much on games when i wont use the power. My dual r9 280x cards arent being pushed right now, no reason for it but to show off lol.
Of the few remaining Video Game Brand Battles, the AMD vs. Nvidia fight might be my favorite. The two graphics companies often take small swipes at each other, and usually with less restraint than console or game manufacturers. With #IWant4GB
If thats all AMD have, they need to shut up.
Despite its flaws, the 970 rips AMD a new one. Then there's the 980...........
