i want nintendo to do something about their obsession with big maps.have them sure, but dont make such a big deal out of it
everytime this or xeno is shown its always YAY BIG MAPS!

big maps, we get it.
what else?

well at least this wont have motion controls.those were a pain the a$$

swice3812d ago

But, small tiny you doing big things in a big world is a much better feeling than small tiny you doing small tiny things in a box

wonderfulmonkeyman3812d ago

If you knew anything about Xenoblade Chronicles, you'd know that they make good use out of big maps.

Monolith can be trusted with this one, bro; your worries are unfounded as far as Xenoblade X goes.

As for Zelda, there's only been one time in the history of the series where they had too much space and not enough to do in it aside from traveling.
Twilight Princess.
And even then the dungeons and storyline more than made up for that downside.

Besides, thanks to recent comments from them in interviews, I think we can be reasonably confident that Nintendo isn't going to let a repeat of "too much space and too little action" happen again.

The stuff we've seen of it so far has been early build stuff that isn't going to reflect the full game.

I dunno Monkeyman, i'm kinda inclined to disagree there.
I thought Wind Waker had a bit too much useless sailing which made the game feel a bit dull at times....i still love it, don't get me wrong but in my humble opinion i felt that was a bit of a killjoy in terms of travelling from one area to another....thank god for the Ballad of Gales!!!

wonderfulmonkeyman3812d ago (Edited 3812d ago )

@ Jay
If you're talking about the original Wind Waker, then I can agree with where you're coming from.
Sailing in that took a long time and there wasn't much to do.

But the remake made sailing so much faster that it's practically a non-factor now.XD
So, yeah, the remake is why I didn't include Wind Waker in my original post.
It solved the issues I had with it so effectively that I kinda just forgot about the existence of the original version.^^;;

* Lots of Towns & Villages please.

wonderfulmonkeyman3812d ago

I've got two wishes for Zelda U:

Sidequests that make me feel as involved with the world as the ones in Majora's Mask did, and a release date that comes before Christmas.XD

Metallox3812d ago

You should tell us more, sounds good as a premise :p

Game_Face13812d ago

This game makes me want to get a Wii U but I don't its worth it for one game.

I did the same with the GameCube and really didn't use it much after Wind Waker.

Summons753812d ago

You're correct no major purchase should be justified with one game...

Good thing the WiiU has tons of amazing games with a huge lineup this year alongside this game and makes buying a WiiU worth your money plus some!

Game_Face13812d ago

Never cared for smash bros.

Like all the other Mario games tho, but none are a "must play" for me like Zelda.

VOICED DIALOGUE, and Some more creative weaponry

Locknuts3812d ago

Yeah they can keep link quiet, but really everyone else should talk. Even if it's some 'hyrulian' language for all versions and the just add subtitles for different regions.

In fact that would be my preferred method. Would seem more authentic.

Summons753812d ago

No, voice acting would hurt more than help. Part of the charm of having the text is you can create your own voices and the best part is progressing the story at your own pace, you read slow read slow, you want to skip mash the B button, you need to stop and get a drink well don't worry because you won't miss anything. Zelda doesn't need voice acting. And all the people begging for voice acting would be the first to complain about how "bad it is and how Nintendo ruined Zelda" Don't fix what isn't broken and so far there has been no reason to add voice acting.

The Legend of Zelda Wii U E3 2011 Tech Demo recreated in Unreal Engine 4, available for download

DSOGaming writes: "Remember the Legend of Zelda Wii U tech demo that Nintendo showcased back in E3 2011? Well, Aklar_45 has recreated that tech demo in Unreal Engine 4, and has released it to the public. So yeah, while Wii U and Switch owners won't get a Zelda game looking as good as that tech demo, PC gamers can at least get a taste of it."

Would be pretty awesome to see a Zelda like this.

nitus102805d ago

I do agree but I would not be surprised if Nintendo puts out a takedown notice on the video/tech demo

lol what? We didn't even get to see anything new. Didn't know they were even present.

-Foxtrot3230d ago

How? Hardly anything new was shown off. Is this because Zelda + Nintendo

Personally I'd give it to Yooka-Laylee

wonderfulmonkeyman3230d ago (Edited 3230d ago )

Does it matter whether it was new or not?
I don't think that's how Gamescom judges what wins. Zelda got the award because it's an exciting game, and after all the hate Nintendo has gotten lately outside of BotW, I can't see the logic in equating it to "because Nintendo".XD

That said, I agree with Yooka-Laylee being deserving of an award or two as well; They've really struck gold with it.
I wonder if they'll consider a sequel soon afterwards?

The new zelda graphics have so much (unique) attention to detail, that nintendo will surely win awards (again) for best looking game ever created, my boy.

This is actually pretty cool. I can't wait until the final game is released to really explore the temple.

guywazeldatatt3236d ago

I'm wondering how much better the NX version will look. supposedly it will look better. the wii u version looked incredible; can't wait to get my hands on them both.

AJBACK2FRAG3235d ago

Nintendo already said it would be the same game. I stupidly thought this game was going to have online multiplayer because different areas were so huge! Look''s like a gorgeous way to send off the Wii U We had to wait for it but it's absolutely a love letter to Nintendo fan's.

wonderfulmonkeyman3236d ago

I wonder what the glow around the statue of the Goddess will do in the full game, when you interact with it?
I'm guessing something minor like a return to full health, but for all we know, that glow could be a cutscene trigger, or even a special trigger for restoring a small part of the memories Link has forgotten during his 100 year slumber...

guywazeldatatt3236d ago

Unfortunately I didn't interact with it as my time was short, but, just seeing it gave me chills. It was a really emotional moment for me.

wonderfulmonkeyman3236d ago

I saw them interact with it in a previous video, and all it did in the demo was pop up some text saying something akin to "The Goddess smiles upon you".
I'm sure the full game will have it do something more than just that.

quent3236d ago

Just beautiful, I hope the nx will have a cheaper launch price then the wiiu, looking to get back into the ninty games.

guywazeldatatt3236d ago

I assume you don't have a Wii U lol. I'm getting both but figure I'll have an easier time getting a review copy with the Wii U version than NX. I really cannot wait for this game!

SkippyPaccino3236d ago

I pre-ordered it on Wii-u, now just waiting to see what the nx is all about before I pull the trigger.

guywazeldatatt3236d ago

The game is worth it. Playing it at E3 was....well it was the highlight of the show for me.
