"Bungie's Shared-World Shooter went live on the 9th of September last year.
It was a commercial success and a critical failure. Nothing exciting really.
The only thing almost all critics agreed upon was the concept of the endgame content, the so called Raid. It was a completely fresh experience in the beginning and some critics went even so far to claim that –while Destiny was a disappointment as a whole, the Raid alone was worce the price tag if you had enough friends on your list to organize it."
Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.
That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it
For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.
In Episode 1 of Spot On, a new weekly news show, Gamespot talks about the dangers of chasing a trend.
Playing Destiny 1 on PC has been something fans have been requesting for years. It looks like Destiny 1 is now playable on PC via the RPCS3 emulator.
A 75 is a critical failure?
Wow. Just wow. We know you journos just love to hate this game.
I love how irate you get that people are playing it and loving it. I would enjoy your ire regardless if I played the game or not. Your integrity is still in the sewers and now you have an article to prove that you are still nothing but hacks.
Yay for you!
I absolutely loved this games concept, it's environment, and it's 2nd to none fps combat. I love fps games, but give and mmo's. I didn't care about a story b/c they become archaic quite rapidly in mmo's anyway. I adored the content and especially the first raid.
Then I realized that skirting the mmo line doesn't work. Either create a game that requires a commitment or do not.
Then came the cheesing. And it ruined everything for good. I put in more time and work than anyone in my group, but everything devolved into trying to cheat.
Here's the problem. When it can be done, it will be. It's like the history teacher that teaches socialism to his class. First test, everyone gets a 90, the average score. A couple are pissed b/c they worked so hard for their 100's. Most are excited b/c they would never had got that score. Next test, about an 80%. By the end of the semester, everyone failed b/c everyone gave up. What was the point?
