The more content they add to Destiny the more I might consider playing it lol.

Jimboms3819d ago

Haha yea, this Expansion looks to be better than the last one. With that said I'm still loving the last one and the game on the whole, might just be me. I recommend it mate :)

TimeSkipLuffy3819d ago

As long as you don't expect a Fallout (great RPG Shooter with Story) + Borderlands (great shooter + Story + Loot) mix, the game is fine.
If you like to put several hours in a game just to get an in-game weapon or armor and have fun with that, Destiny is worth a look.

Sounds a bit negative but it is not meant that way. Some gamers just like to grind for a piece of digital content XD. Nothing to criticize as long as ppl have fun. I still play from time to time for fun shooting or with friends.

I hope the next DLC let us see more cities on earth and let us visit other planets.

FanboyKilla3819d ago

lol expansion my arse. you mean the rest of the game we should have got for the 60 we spent. it adds another 50 million in their wallet.

ScaryMonkey3819d ago (Edited 3819d ago )

LOL, oh man I wish I could hate on Destiny too so I could be in the cool kids club with the rest of the haters.

FPS_D3TH3818d ago

Sorry but destiny scrubs will never be cool.

Tell you what. Add some content. Make it free (cause we all know you cut out 95% of the base game to sell it to us AGAIN) and I might install this crap on my PS4 again. The shooting mechanics where there, but fact of the matter is, I can get that anywhere.
Hell I was playing Rage and Alien Rage last night on my 360 and felt just as content. So I really don't NEED the painful grinding and emptiness of nothingness that is Destiny. Plus I can keep that "expansion" money in my pocket for things like you know, a new game.

Death3819d ago

Destiny is definitely one of those games where having friends makes it much better. I paid $60 for the game and have well over 100 hours on my main character, 23h 24m 10s on my secondary character and 8h 57m 56s on my third character I just crushed to start a second Hunter. My Destiny tracker app stopped working with the expansion so I'm not sure how much more I have played since spending the $15 for the additional content. I'm not sure about you, but I'm typically lucky to get 10 hours out of a game. I would have bought between 10-15 games to get the same amount of play time for the $75 I have invested in Destiny.

I respect your opinion that Destiny wasn't for you, but I don't agree the game is "crap" or a waste of money. You may not have enjoyed it or found value in it, but that doesn't mean others haven't.

kurruptor3819d ago

You don't have to respect his opinion when he says stupid things like they cut 95% of the game.

MilkMan3819d ago

I wouldn't even entertain the notion that my opinions are shared by others. I was just adding my voice to the choir. But thank you for being civilized.

ABizzel13819d ago

I don't think they cut 95% of the game, but I definitely believe they failed to deliver on the grandness they were hyping in dev vids.

The dev vids. made it seem like Destiny was going to be huge open world planets you could explore. Basically it seems like Destiny was going to be No Man's Sky meets Halo, with a story rivaling Mass Effect spanning across the solar system, and RPG elements from Borderlands.

It completely failed to be anything like that, and in that regard Bungie and previewers should be ashamed of themselves for not calling it out on it's BS. It's still an enjoyable game with friends, simply because co-op looting and raiding are almost always good fun. But I do believe The Dark Below was cut from the original game, since so many of the areas are part of previous maps just closed off.

MysticStrummer3819d ago

"The dev vids. made it seem like Destiny was going to be huge open world planets you could explore."

When? I was paying attention to this game from the moment of reveal on, and I never thought that.

"Basically it seems like Destiny was going to be No Man's Sky…"

Basically it seems like some people's own imaginations ruined the game for them. Again, how did those people get so confused about what Destiny was? I keep asking the question but no one has an answer.

Minor Lies

#1: Level 5 - 11 using Gjallhorn, Thunderlord, Patience and Time, when in the final game you have to be level 20.
7:20

Possible Lies

#1: The Queens brother and your guardian happens that's not in the game at all. If it's in the house of Wolves, then it pretty much confirms they cut the Dark Below and House of Wolves from the game, for the sake of charging players more money.
11:30

#2: Showing rings around a planet, that seems to be Saturn. Not in the game at all, so again potential content that was cut.

Video 2: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

White lie

#1: Matchmaking is not is the most important aspect of destiny. Raids.
1:50

Video 3: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Lie #1 Saturn confirmed, but nowhere to be found.

Video 4: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Just look at the comments

wsoutlaw873818d ago

I like destiny but the devs definitely misled everyone. One of the devs said he wasnt sure if anyone could really finish destiny implying that there would be huge worlds with tons of missions, but instead, I could beet everything the game has to off in a little over a day. They also put the ships flying in vids to make it look like you could fly.

MysticStrummer3818d ago

Nothing you posted there backs up what you said above. Show me where the devs implied the game would be anywhere near as big as No Man's Sky, which (for starters) would mean gameplay beyond our solar system.

I played the free demo of Destiny and got a Fusion Rifle early on. When I played the full game it took longer to get one. It seems you would count that as a lie.

"Just look at the comments"

Why? Are you saying random YouTube comments misled you about Destiny, which would be a funny argument, or are you implying that agreement with a YouTube comment somehow enforces your opinion?

JeffGUNZ3817d ago

I agree with Mystic. I followed all these videos and saw nothing like you mention. The videos of gameplay are dev. builds so they have exotics at any level just to show the variety of components. This game was EXACTLY what the alpha and beta presented. A lot of people didn't understand that Destiny was advertising the SERIES, the next 10 years and not just the first installment, no DLC game. They said many times that this is just the begining. This is why I don't get why people are appalled by the DLC and what not, it was clearly evident this game will be filled with expansions between full releases.

JWiLL5523819d ago

I'd call House of Wolves more of an add on than an expansion.

The "Comet" content coming in September is an expansion. It's nearly the size of the full game.

It'll probably cost $40, but it has something like 12 missions, 5 strikes, 1 raid, 6 PVP maps, new classes, etc.

kurruptor3819d ago

To me it is somewhere between just an addon and expansion. Kind of like a mini-expansion.

Whatever you want to call it, the prices are comparable. Compared to other DLC in other games, this was a fair price.

Jimboms3819d ago

The Comet expansion is really going to change the game, I can't wait.

jeremyj29133819d ago

Until that gets confirmed I'm taking all info with a grain of salt. New sub classes were rumored for The Dark Below add-on as well.

svoulis3819d ago

oh boy....I can't wait

Microsoft bought all of Zenimax Media for 7 billion, while Sony paid 4 billion for Bungie. I think Microsoft got the better deal due to acquiring Fallout, ElderScrolls and Doom.

So you're saying that Microsoft has missed out on so many huge gaming franchise in the last 25 years from GTA exclusivity to guitar hero and destiny it's just laughable they had so many misses

Reaper22_297d ago

Yea, but they're still 100 times more wealthy than Sony. I would say it worked out well.

Gamingsince1981297d ago

Xbox is dead all that money doesn't help.

Hypertension140297d ago

What has work out well? It sure as hell had nothing to do with Xbox.

andy85297d ago

That isn't because of Xbox though. This is a gaming page, not an I get supplemented by father Windows page

Bathyj297d ago

Microsoft's money has nothing to do with Xbox.
Xbox is a money pit to them they would love to ditch but are after some ROI first.

Let's face it, Xbox is like a red headed stepchild that steals from you to buy drugs.

Hofstaderman297d ago (Edited 297d ago )

MIicrosoft is NOT XBOX. The current situation illustrates this. And Microsoft wants its ROI.

@Bathyj and daddy Satya has just force admitted Phil to rehab.

gold_drake297d ago

you know why MS has so much money, and it aint cause of the gaming xbox branch.

so lets not kid ourselves.

PhillyDonJawn297d ago

Xbox was shown to be more profitable than ps

jznrpg297d ago

@PhillyDownJawn not more profitable. More revenue with ABK acquisition but them going multiplat shows they are not making much profit

ocelot07297d ago

That's great for Xbox gamers ain't it that Microsoft are more wealthy than Sony. Is that really a argument use are using now lol?

Imagine me in my job. Arguing with a fellow security guard at another company. Hahah well the company I work for is worth £800m the one you work for is only work £600m!

Knightofelemia297d ago

Microsoft may have more money but Sony has the talented studios and the games to back up those studios.

Plus turning down Marvel too. Spiderman is only exclusive to Playstation because of that

Hedstrom297d ago

Best deal deal in gaming must be when Sony bought Insomniac for 229 million dollars. They made over 800 millions on Spiderman for the ps4 alone. Thats just crazy!

XBManiac297d ago

More in the 1.000 million now.

gold_drake297d ago

another Interview?

how is he the only one who loves the spotlight as much as he does lol

Futureshark297d ago

Let's not forget he also famously passed on Spider-man, Genshin Impact and GTA3.

However it's almost kind of cute how he can keep that sh1t-eating grin and say he's a 'no regrets' kind of guy, especially when you think how much just these 5 titles could have swung the world in Xbox's favour instead of Sonys.

How he's kept his job I don't know, he must sure be keeping Papa Nadella's shaft warm somehow.

"But, but Gamepass, he introduced that!!!"

Yes he did, and now look at Xbox, all it's exclusives are coming to Playstation now rendering the platform obsolete.

DarXyde297d ago

Honestly, with that kind of track record, you can't convince me Spencer hasn't eaten it from the back in the name of self preservation. Probably unwashed...and at least twice.

That aside, my interpretation of everything here is Xbox has been mismanaged a bit too much and Nadella came down from his throne. The way it is now, I don't believe for a minute the multiplatform move was Spencer's idea. I don't even think the acquisitions was Spencer's work. At this point, I reckon he's got as much power in his role as Hunter Biden at a Ukrainian energy company.

DivineHand125297d ago

You can never tell how things will turn out if he had said yes to those games. Xbox already has access to some great IPs, however, they hardly do anything with them or fail to deliver. It's also possible their presentation wasn't good at the time, and they made sure the next presentation was better.

I believe that part of being successful is releasing things in the right place at the right time.

Many major corporations have a story similar to passing on successful business ideas. Let us look at Sony Pictures for example. Back when Marvel went bankrupt, they had the opportunity to buy the entire Marvel for only $25 Million but turned them down. An unnamed big shot at Sony reportedly claimed that “nobody gives a shit about any of the other Marvel characters,”. They ended up taking Spiderman for $10 Million instead.

https://www.avclub.com/sony...

Fast forward to today, we can see what the Marvel brand has done for Disney. Is it possible the same success would have been possible had Sony acquired those IPs. We can't say that for sure and it is possible most of those IPs that are successful today may not have been used.
