Technology Tell writes, "Those games were fun because of how the collectibles made you explore your world, and this appeal shone best in a time without open-world marvels like Skyrim. We have much higher standards of immersion and world-building these days. So then it could lean on its platforming? But three-dimensional platform games have largely faded away except for Mario, and regardless of its quality, a paint-by-numbers approach seems like a hard sell on a platform most bought for games like Titanfall."
Rare, the developer behind pirate adventure Sea of Thieves, has introduced a dedicated dog park to its studio grounds for employees' good boys and girls.
Nice thing they did, but not actually gaming related, not sure why this article was approved. Also strange informing us what game Rare worked on, as if we don't know their legacy.
I went to look at new apartments and saw only dog parks, no kid parks. We're so screwed.
Rare has had an astonishing journey since being founded in 1985. But of the 125 titles released to date, which are the 7 best Rare games?

Rare can't win with this franchise at this point. Nuts & Bolts was too different for fans to accept (though I loved it) and making another 3D platformer would be seen as stale and not moving the franchise forward (though that genre doesn't sell well anyway without Mario in the title).
I would love a new Banjo, i'm a huge fan of the series and we need more 3D platformers. But i don't trust Rare nowadays to make a game like this. The last good game made by Rare it's Kameo: Elements of Power, from 2005.
How about Conker & Kazooie: The Quest for Banjo? Imagine a drunk conker vomititng everywhere upside down while kazooie runs.
I don't think saying that platformers have faded away is correct. With the exception of Mario, there is still R&C that is doing reasonable and let's not forget Skylanders.
It's just a matter of how it is executed. A well executed Banjo game wouldn't be the wrong the call.
