I did not read the article, but are they stating that Destiny cost 500 million? If they did, yet another so called journalist pulling facts from a quote that was taken out of context. As far as I know the GTA games have always been the most expensive games to develop.

Journalist need to learn what they are writing about because multiple people have stated Destiny is no where near that much. The $500M is most likely for the whole 10 year partnership for the franchise. In that case Destinys first entry alone most certainly was not $500M, so most expensive franchises, maybe, but most expensive game, no.
