EB Games Is Removing All Copies Of Elder Scrolls Online From Stores

Kotaku Australia, "We’ve just learned that a directive, sent to all EB Games stores, has asked that all copies of Elder Scrolls Online — including the pre-paid cards — are to be sent back to the publisher."

I can't think of another valid reason why they would remove the prepaid cards from the store other than making the game F2P.

I hope it goes F2P, and with console versions supposed to be released later this year it would probably end up in more sales on consoles if it becomes F2P. Personally if I get it on a console I wouldn't want to pay monthly on top of XBL or PSN online costs.

I'm wanting it to go F2P. I played it on PC but stopped as I don't think it was worth the sub fees. If they removed them I would come back.

Unless you are blind, this is an obvious sign of FTP implementation. TERA went through the same deal, right before the game went FTP. All of the retail copies vanished as any account with a retail key were awarded founders status when the FTP servers went live.
