The internet has no shortage of complainers and right here in our own gaming community we sadly have more than our fair share. Will entitled gamers ever be happy or are we doomed to listen to them moan until the end of time itself?

The Outerhaven says: $80 video games, Grand Theft Auto VI delay, Polygon and Giant Bomb gutted, and the lack of crossplay in Elden Ring Nightreign in Spectator Mode Podcast Ep. 186.
Hey, It's not their fault! if these companies would just give them everything now, and for free, then it would almost be enough!
The problem is who decides when it's entitlement and when it's legitimate criticism. It's not like there aren't stupid decisions made in gaming or entitled gamers. But, where is the line drawn? Who is making that decision?
You mention Destiny and the "free item". Great, I got a free item. Here's the problem, Destiny "likes" other gamers more than me because what I got was garbage and what they got was pretty freaking nice.
Now, is that a complaint about getting a free item? No, it's a complaint about how their flawed system of completely random things can happen and determine how effective you are in the game has impacted something that is meant to be a gift of equal value to everyone. But, it's not that. To me and many others, it was another 3 ascendant energy that can go right in my stack of 80+ ascendant energy. To others, it was a weapon that I worked two weeks to earn and is actually useful or even better results.
That's not a complaint about getting something for free. It's a complaint about a flawed system. A flawed system that shines through even when they are trying to be nice and give you something for free.
As I said in another article on this: This is like me giving my oldest son a $1 allowance and my youngest a $20 allowance even though they both do all their chores as requested. Should my oldest son never complain even though I'm obviously paying my youngest more for the same time and effort? Of course he should. I'm being a jerk to him and thinking lesser of him.
Edit: In short, I think it's really easy for people to lump people with some legitimate complaints into the entitled category. I don't think there are that many entitled people in the gaming community as we make it out to be. I just think some complaints are skewed towards that because others disagree and lump them all together. Kind of like how people lump people into one side of the fanboy war based on a single comment made in a single submission.
Do some babies not wear diapers?
I do feel like some gamers take it a little far with their self entitlement, can't please everybody but god I know its hard to be a developer and have to decide what you feel like your audience deserves and what can be offered later at a price without tarnishing your image and being labeled as greedy.
Some people complain because the sun is shinning too bright. You'll be able to tell who the entitled cry babies are. Watch their posts. They rarely ever have anything positive, interesting, or constructive to add to a conversation. Take a look at their comment history and all you'll see are nothing but negative comments about everything and anything that they don't have or own themselves. They are miserable people and they thrive on making others miserable. They bring nothing of any real substance to the gaming community as a whole other than chaos.
