Not really. 3.5" drives are much cheaper and are larger than 2.5" drives. Until the PS4 allows external storage, you can cheaply add something like a 4tb drive to your system.

no it isnt. its actually pretty brilliant. 3.5 HDDs are way cheaper, and you can get bigger and better ones.

If you're willing to spend the extra money you can also get a 4TB hybrid drive. Faster boot, slightly better load times, and probably a bit less heat.

I want to know how it will work. I have a feeling PS4 getting an update soon. Wouldnt the new drive have to be formatted for use on PS4. Can you launch games off it. Man i need answers.

It will act as an internal drive, so yes games can be launched. You will probably have to load the PS4 firmware just like you would when installing larger 2.5" HDDs.

Thats a nice move. So you can switch out your internal and use this. Not bad. Plus the 3.5hdd seem to be cheaper than 2.5hdd. All in win win for gamers looking for more storage.

I don't think there is a difference with 3.5 and 2.5 othet than the size. As far as I know.
So that shouldn't be a problen

Yeah the HDD's are cheaper and have much larger memory.

Really interested in the HDD but I would just be worried their could be problems with the PS4 at times and you suffer from corrupt data more easily.

Ive read online that there is already an adapter out there alloing us to use the larger size HDD on the ps4. From the people that are doing it they say it works the same as the smaller version just allows more data. But w/the adapter you have it just sitting on the PS4. I like how this has a bay to keep it looking nice. I'm definatly getting this!!!

I like the hard drive adapter, but if an update allows for external hard drive, like xone does, then this is pointless. Does nyko knows that the update is not coming?
