Yakuza Zero for PS4 and PS3 Starts 2015 Off with a Calendar Featuring Hunky Kiryu

Sega started off the new year by releasing the January month of a desktop calendar featuring Yakuza Zero's handsome protagonist Kazuma Kiryu with a killer gaze and a lot less years on his shoulders (at least compared to Yakuza 5).

They need to bring this and the HD collection for Yakuza 1 & 2 to the west!

yuukiliu3411d ago

If 5 sells well in the West they might.

Bansai3411d ago

I hope it will, Sega seriously needs to see Yakuza is still popular in the West

ChronoJoe3411d ago (Edited 3411d ago )

Why would it though? 4 didn't sell well enough for them to bring the HD versions of one and two over, so why would 5 be any different?

I love Yakuza but people (including Sega's executives) wishing for millions of units to fly off the shelves over here, are going to be continually disappointed. Instead, Sega need to look towards their localisation procedure and evaluate why they seemingly can't make these 200-300k extra units sold over here, profitable.

Games like Disgaea have equally poor NA / EU sales, yet they release multiple iterations, fully voiced in English over in the West. Other, smaller publishers are making these low-selling titles profitable in the West, even when the localisation process involves more work. Yet Sega claim this isn't possible.

Sega just aren't a very good publisher. Refusing to publish Bayonetta 2, killing the Western release of games like Valkyria Chronicles and Yakuza (seemingly), while releasing an endless stream of awful Sonic titles instead. As a consumer, continually spectating their mistakes gets quite frustrating. I want good games, but Sega just make so many awful decisions.

Not too worried about Yakuza 1 since I already beat it, but sure need to play Yakuza 2 so I can get to 3, trying to have a better understanding of the story, but I might skip and start to continue with 3.

scark923411d ago

I need it! At least put it on the Vita!

MazzingerZ3411d ago

They always come to EU so I don't see this title being an exception
I love Yakuza!

I still dont get why they had to make a prequel.

5 Games with Addictive Combat Mechanics

Yagmur Sevinc from NoobFeed writes - Combat is incredibly important in a game where the majority of the time is spent kicking and screaming. When the type of combat mechanics a game employs speaks to us, it instantly elevates the mood and makes the game an unforgettable experience. Let us look at some of the games where combat is so addictive that it leaves you with a smile on your face every time you look back at it.

Oh…how God of War left me in awe of its combat mechanics🤯 And throwing that 🪓 again and again, NEVER gets old😊 Never have I felt more like a complete an utter badass lol. Pardon my language. Well, come to think of it, maybe when I played as Joel in Last of Us, but idk, that’s up for debate haha!

Nod to Control, that has fun combat mechanics.

Could have gone a bit further and checked older games. God Hand had an incredibly addictive combat style imo.

Let's not forget Devil May Cry 5 too!

gamerz615d ago

I keep watching DMC5 combat videos but always feel like I'm just button mashing.

FreeckyCake615d ago

It takes a while for you to learn to execute stylish combos. With Devil May Cry 3/4, it took me years of practice

MIDGETonSTILTS17615d ago

I would add:

-Doom Eternal
-DMC5
-Spider-Man (I think they managed to differentiate from the Arkham formula, since they don’t have a “counter” button. And the zip-punch is perfect to keep momentum going)

LordoftheCritics615d ago

My personal fav combat:

1. Destiny 2
2. Skyforge
3. Control
4. DMC 3
5. BF3
6. Titanfall 2
7. Arkham Series
8. Tekken
9. HL2 series
10. Homeworld series

All for different reasons
