Xbox One game releases for January 2015

Wait a second, isn't the beginning of the year traditionally the slow time for video games? Following a busy October through December, the momentum continues into the beginning of 2015 with a number of promising Xbox One games, including Dying Light. While Techland's first-person survival-action game is probably the biggest title of the month, there's quite a few other games releasing in January 2015 to get excited about. Here's a look at what's coming this month to Xbox One.

What is Grim Fandango? lol I seriously have not heard of that game...

XanderZane3403d ago

Besides Dying Light, there isn't much else for this month. Grim Fandango is just a remastered version of the original game. No idea when that's coming out. Day of the Tenacle remastered is also suppose to be released. Only 3 early games I want is Fable Legends, Qauntum Break and Ori and the Blind Forest. Give me those within the next 3 months and I'll be happy.

@ jackanderson1985

It's confirmed to be releasing on PS4, Vita, PC, Mac and Linux, with no announcement of any other platforms. It's possible it will come to other platforms if Double Fine care enough to.

@ GUTZnPAPERCUTZ

It's a classic LucasArts PC game, helmed by Tim Schafer. You must know that guy.

@ XanderZane

Grim is coming out in January, which is what his comment was regarding. Ori will probably be out in the first 3 months, but Quantum Break and Fable Legends have almost no chance of coming out before June, unless MS and announces dates at their January event. Quantum Break seems like a game that will have an impressive showing at E3 and release in the fall.

Dying Light looks fun, but so did Dead Island, and we know how that turned out, so Im gonna wait for reviews

Trekster_Gamer3403d ago

Dead Island was a helluvalotta fun!

nowitzki20043403d ago

It was fun at first but got so old so quick for me. Im hoping Dying Light is different, especially considering that there is a total transformation how you play day and night.

jb2273403d ago

Yup, totally agreed. I personally won't buy any of the Dead series from these devs, regardless of how well it reviews…rented the first Dead Island and there was a literal game breaking bug where you couldn't progress through the single player w/o getting on co op to use a workaround. Bugs & glitches are bad enough, but when you literally can't finish a game on release, anyone who rented it just pissed away 5 bucks. Not a huge hit but my principles won't allow me to trust those people ever again. Probably just as mediocre as the other titles anyway, decently fun gameplay that gets repetitive after a couple hours & a loosely strung together "story" that amounts to nothing. Think I'd rather support the Resident Evil remaster for my zombie needs in january.

Dead Island series is on my top 10 list of all TIME. I loved them, bugged or not very playable and Bella fun. Also, they've put a lot of time into this one. I've pre ordered day 1 for me:). See ya on the island me brudda's.

helicoptergirl29d ago

This studio might be spreading themselves too thin.

anast29d ago

It's probably the same game broken into 5 episodes or just repurposed for each story.

gold_drake154d ago

the og is so good

didnt rly like 2 and the new one.

cthulhucultist154d ago

I found all LiS games to be very good.

Especially the first and True Colors.

Before the storm was also amazing as it tied up the story with 1 in a great way and mae you invested with previously unknown character.

I think LiS 2 was the weakest in the series but still a very good game

Knightofelemia154d ago

The game is a good game I enjoyed the first game I double platinumed it on PS3 and PS4. And Life is Strange Before the Storm I also enjoyed if it was on PS3 I would have bought it again because I enjoyed it. Life is Strange 2 for some reason I just can't get into it. And the newer Life is Strange game I have yet to play it.

vTuro24154d ago

This game was quite the experience. I had no idea it was this popular.
