Along with the best expansion pack/DLC and multiplatform games of 2014.
Released on September 30 2014, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is 10 years old today, and it's still the best blueprint for the LOTR franchise.
Honestly, just a fantastic game/series (aside from the blunder of Microtransactions/grinding). The system with the orcs was amazing.. which it would be implemented in more games.
This game convinced me to buy a new console. There was a huge difference between the previous gen (Xbox360/ PS3) & the latest gen (Xbox One/ PS4) . The Nemesis System was only available in Xbox One/ PS4 . That was how a generation shift should be.
Huzaifah from eXputer writes, "My favorite type of genre in games is when enemies are merely animal fodder in the eyes of the protagonist's sheer power."
Fans of the action-adventure franchise have been eagerly awaiting news of a potential sequel to one of the best games on the PS4.
Umm ... how about this?
First we get the Tushima sequel(coz its most rumored)
Then a new Resistance (need new PS SP FPS)
Then a totally new IP (new IPs are always interesting)
And then a new inFamous?
I had a great time with the second son. Never got to play the originals and hope they get remastered one day.
If I had a choice between another Infamous game and another Spider-Man game, I choose Spider-Man. Sony should spend its resources on its winners.
Why isn't there a single PC exclusive on that list? Divinity OS, Legend of Grimrock II & Wasteland 2 should have replaced some of those multiplats.
It's says a lot about Sony's lack of AAA exclusives that Infamous won best PS4 game. It barely cracks 80 on metacritic. That's a B- or C+. Hope 2015 is a lot better.
Nintendo owned 2014 - least in my experience. Proof needed? Look at the nominees for best Wii U game 2014...Smash, MK8, Bayonetta 2 and Tropical Freeze. Not one weak link and not one game not brimming with polish, gameplay and fun - not to mention exclusivity. Sad to see Titanfall not win best multi-platform game, but I understand, the genre is pretty saturated...still, wonderfully fresh (so to speak).
PS4 hands down the best console of the year. Give MS props for a heck of a comeback late in the year with their cool exclusives but Sony is ahead by a mile for a reason. Can't wait till The Order and Bloodborne drop soon.
A phenomenal year for PC gaming from indie exclusives like "This War of Mine ", Dread Out, Freedom Planet, Enola, etc. RTS games like Endless Legend, Civ beyond earth, etc. Nintendo did brought fun games this year innovative no ,but the games were fun to play. Sony and Microsoft not so sure.
