Konami Comments On MGS V Release Date Is Feb 24 Rumor, says "PlaceHolder/Wrong Date"

Last week, multiple retailers and Microsoft Store listed "1 Comment" as release date of upcoming MGS game, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The date spread like a wild fire (as the date falls on Tuesday i.e. the day when most games releases in North America) and Metal Gear Solid series fans were took it a legit and expected Hideo Kojima to make an official announcement pretty soon. Sadly, this "February 24" has been confirmed to be as a "Placeholder", according to Konami's ToraShiro.

the game would get at leatt months of pre release hype

Bansai1393d ago

Well when is the release date? It's getting seriously annoying now.

mezati991393d ago

you can bet it's either summer or very late 2015

the release date i think is 22 June; the last trailer said COMING 1984 = 6 letters and (1+9+8+4) = 22 i.e. 6/22. Also at the Game Awards Kojima wore a t-shirt which said "tjugoandra den sjätte", which is Swedish for "twenty-second and sixth".

read about that and it could also mean something announced for christmas.

the 22 could mean chapter 22 and the sixth means the 6the book from the author of moby dick(cant remember his name).

anyway so the sixth book is moby dick, the 22nd chapter is merry chrsitmas.

quite a silly theory but makes a lot of sense in some ways.

It makes sense because this is Kojima we are talking about. If it were anybody else it would be written off as nonsense. But, that could very well be true!

:)

kojima has said that he wil make some announcements on christmad. so i think that shirt was refering to the 22nd chapter of moby dick.
