INQ: Christmas morning is meant to be a magical time of sharing gifts and seeing the joy on your kid’s faces as they open their heavily desired gift. Modern console gaming with the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U is not like consoles past where you can just plug up and go though. I was reminded by a friend and fellow games writer of the agony of downloading updates for all three consoles and am passing this tip along so you won’t experience the same.
Ozan Drøsdal tells TheGamer about The Holy Gosh Darn, the final part of the Tuesday Trilogy.
Hollow Knight: Silksong’s new collectible that succeeds the popular Grubs has the potential to deepen the mysteries of the new world.
The tiny green slasher villain returns in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and is as frightening as ever.
Probably not a bad idea. Same holds true for games on the PS4 and Xbox One.
Not probably a good idea...a MUST. Took a day off work to watch the x1 act like a total sob, laughing at me switching between loading and installing.
I called ms that day, raising hell and got nowhere.
LOL, I remember when I was a kid and I was this eager to play my new console. But I think you should just be old school and deal with it, you're excited and all but you should wait a few more minutes.
On Christmas you should be opening a brand new sealed, never before opened box. It's tradition.
As a kid, I would ENJOY the update process. I was weird like that. I loved the PS1 and GBA startup jingles more than half my games for them, before I ever play a new game or console (to this day) I read or at least glance through the booklets and manuals, and dick around with the in-game options, read boxes, ect, so an update is just more quirky joy for me. It just enhances the overall experience and makes the game a fraction more enjoyable since I get all hyped up. My mind was gonna blow by time I got playing Pokemon Stadium...
Anybody else like this or should I be poppin' pills for Autism?
I've told everyone I know whose getting a Wii U for their kids this Christmas to do this. Easy way to avoid fighting and disappointment on Christmas morning!
