Sony Wants To Know if You Want Another PlayStation Experience Next Year: “Whole Company Had a Blast”

PlayStation Experience is now in the past, with its big load of gameplay, announcements and information directly from the developers, and many are asking themselves whether it’ll happen again. Digital Communications Senior Manager Sid Shuman encouraged fans to let Sony know if they want another.

Yes, I thought it was great. I had my hopes high and was a little dissapointed with no last guardian haha but I am used to the pain. I reckon they shouldn't do it annually unless they have a lot to show rather than a reflection on the year and a look at games already coming up. If they throw in surprises each year then yes it will make me wanting it again.

skwidd3441d ago

I dunno.. a one time thing felt special for the anniversary and they had enough to show to quench my thirst but if they don't have much to show next year then I'd rather not. It just becomes disappointing and cheapens the whole event. Leaning towards no even though I loved it this year!

G20WLY3441d ago (Edited 3441d ago )

Agreed, it was awesome. Annual would be great! But I'd do it in November to build hype for the holidays, as it felt quite late for an annual event.

PSX timing may have been a one-off opportunity - I mean, how often can we hope to enter January with so many awesome games coming so soon? Building hype so late this year will maintain momentum into New Year. :)

Agree with others though; don't do it for the sake of doing it, only bother if you have enough great content to make it worthwhile - and don't let it detract from a decent showing at E3 (obviously it didn't this year)!

miyamoto3441d ago

PSX was good for the PS Vita...so PSX 2016 is a definite go!

ShinMaster3441d ago

YES if devs have plenty to show.

NO if devs aren't ready to show much.

nX3441d ago

Since Sony has lots of first party stuff going on all the time I would absolutely welcome such an event annually. Every big gaming event is something good in my book.

bouzebbal3441d ago

With all devs prefering ps4 there will clearly be lots of games in development so i support the idea of an extra expo to show off the new stuff and also to spread the announcements between e3 gamescom tgs and psx

I would love another PlayStation Experience. This time I hope it's at another city though.

breakdancefight3441d ago

Would love to see it somewhere like Chicago,Texas or Colorado.

Outthink_The_Room3441d ago

I think it coincides with The Game Awards. And since that MIGHT be held in Vegas every year, it would be tough to move the event somewhere else.

You gotta think about all the gamers and developers who showed up to the TGAs, then were also in town for the PSExp.

It makes it alot simpler for everyone involved if you have the TGAs one day, then the next day you simply go to the PSExp a few blocks away.

Asking journalists, gamers and developers to quickly leave after the awards kind of dampens the whole point. It's a gaming weekend with two major events back-to-back.

breakpad3441d ago (Edited 3441d ago )

not so much..with only one new game announcement (that also leaked 1 day before) ..no ..you hyped the whole thing to the sky and we just saw a (leaked)SFV teaser (ok and some good but-not-worth-the-hype U4 gameplay)..if you had smthing like TLG or Crash bandicoot ofcourse yes but now we dont like another hype train course just for nothing ...

GameDev13441d ago (Edited 3441d ago )

There was more than one new game there announced for the PS consoles like Drawn to Death, Killstrain, new Fat princess, The forest, new MLB. third parties bringings like Yakuza 5 to the west for PS3

Buts that not even the point, developers dont make a 100 new games and am pretty sure you are talking about new AAA games, there is only so much you can announces new in a year

I want another PS experience, the main thing is that I want another game experience for the holidays especially when the next E3 is so far away, so whether its new gameplay and some little game announcements, I am fine with it. I dont always feel the need to see big titles at every conference, leave that for E3 or Gamescom

Plus the panels were amazing for game tech knowledge and if you are an aspiring game developer there was a lot there from advice on how to get into the industry, life story of current game developers, even some secret news that people who didnt watch the panels would have missed

remixx1163441d ago (Edited 3441d ago )

Yeah not to mention super stardust ultra and dungeon defenders 2, the delivered on their promise.

I got to see the rage inducing multiplat, new games like super star dust, drawn to death, dungeon defenders, the forest and new mlb and an announcement of a new god of war.

Plus I got new gameplay on the order, uncharted 4, bloodborne, untildawn, no mans sky and more. Frankly I thought it was awesome.

Half of you guys were only disappointed because you wanted to be.

Relientk773441d ago

An overwhelming yes, I would love another PlayStation Experience

uth113441d ago

Hmmm, can we have time to think about it and get back to you? :p

swishersweets200313441d ago

yeah, but make sure everyone coming has something new to talk about. That blizzard presentation was painful to sit through. All they talked about was stuff they talked about last year.

Abriael3441d ago

Well, it was a retrospective. Mostly, it was the topic itself that wasn't that interesting.

Other retrospectives were interesting, like the God of War one (even excluding Barlog's slip on the new GoW)

PlayStation Experience 2015: The Big List of Playable Games

Posted by Sid Shuman on Nov 12, 2015 // Senior Manager, Social Media

Not long now! Today I’m pleased to reveal the list of playable games coming to PlayStation Experience this December 5th & 6th in San Francisco in the West Hall of the Moscone Center.

While we’re keeping some of the playable games a surprise, this should give you a pretty good idea of what’s in store. For one, I’m dying to get my mitts on Alienation, Dark Souls 3, Firewatch, Gang Beasts, Killing Floor 2, and Gravity Rush Remastered. What about you?

Need to know when Theater tickets are going on sale?

I'm up in the Seattle area and I want to watch it at Sucker Punches Offices as last year I heard they showed it and I just went to some regular theater in Seattle?!

S2Killinit3114d ago (Edited 3114d ago )

If only it was a few days later i would have drove over to San Francisco. As it stands, its smack inthe middle of my finals!

Cant wait to see what they got in store for us though.

StormLegend3114d ago

I really do hope The Last Of Us 2 is announced.

I want 2016 to be about Uncharted, but I wanna know if the last of us is being worked on.

Lucreto3114d ago (Edited 3114d ago )

It's possible,

They released Uncharted 3 in October and announced The Last of Us at the Spike Game Awards in December.

Livecustoms3114d ago

yeah but uncharted 4 hasnt been released ? no way will they announce a new game when the one currently in development hasnt even been released yet.

NotAFanboyyy3113d ago

I am so torn about Last of Us 2. Felt the first game was brilliant and ended perfectly. Maybe it could be a prequel involving Joel and Tess in the years right after the breakout up to the events of the first game? In any case, anything ND makes is sure to be classic. Can't wait for Uncharted 4 next year.
