Already bought it when it was on sale but still that sucks. Whats with all the games being taken down lately?

lodossrage3845d ago

I'm shocked this wasn't taken down when marvel vs capcom 2 and ultimate marvel vs capcom were taken down.

Luckily, I bought them all before they got taken off.

I have to remember to get after burner climax this week before that goes away too

@JohnathanACE -

Normally, it's due to expired licensing and most companies don't care to renew them.

mydyingparadiselost3845d ago

You may have already missed out on After Burner, I was reading a thread on Gaf yesterday and a lot of people were talking about how they went to go buy it and it had already been delisted.

lodossrage3845d ago

you're right, I DID just miss it. Right after I made my first post I went to the PSN store.

they pulled it earlier that they slated

FarEastOrient3845d ago

This is why I buy physical when I can.

aceitman3845d ago

this is one reason y I feel retail is better than digital

Amuro3845d ago

yeah. After the game's gone it's gone forever. No used copies or anything.

gangsta_red3845d ago

I really hope Capcom and Marvel make another deal.

CorndogBurglar3845d ago

Me too, as long as they do away with the infinite combos that pretty much ruined MvC3.

gangsta_red3845d ago

Lmao, I agree man, online we called them "No Brake Combos".

I loved playing but after everyone started copying the tourney guys and just using specific characters that can kill you off of one hit, the game was ruined for me. But I still enjoy it with friends and Capcom did one heck of a job with this entry.

CorndogBurglar3845d ago

It was good, but the fact that they purposely programmed the game to have those combos in it really made me mad.

I'm a huge comic book fan and have been collecting comics since I was a little kid. So the Capcom/Marvel games were always big for me as they were actually good games with Marvel characters.

MvC2 is my favorite fighting game of all time. There were only 1 or 2 "No Brake Combos" in that, and they weren't even there on purpose.

To think that they would base an entire strategy around it for the sequel really upset me.

I'm with you, once everyone started picking Wolverine, Sentinel and Dante and doing the infinites, i quit. Just so lame to play that way.

Amuro3845d ago (Edited 3845d ago )

Capcom actually implemented a very aggressive damage scaling on UMVC3 to prevent this from happening but infinites still happen due to a bug during TAC that causes unlimited hit stun, so the character getting hit can never recover.

And MVC2 it's beyond broken compared to UMVC3. In fact, UMVC3 seems like a perfectly balanced game compared to the broken mess that is MVC2 where there are only 3 viable characters. You compare the winners on many tournaments and you'll notice the characters are very diverse on UMVC3 but tourneys on MVC2 are all Mag/Storm/Sen + sometimes Cyclops or Psylocke because their anti-air assists are the most broken in the game.

Knightofelemia3845d ago (Edited 3845d ago )

Well that sucks this gives me an excuse to haul out the Sega Saturn and play some Xmen vs Street fighter

TheRacingX3845d ago

Good memories right there...

Enigma_20993845d ago

De-listed, but if you bought it, you can still download it again.

Digital media is AWESOME!!![/sarcasm]

mydyingparadiselost3845d ago

Yea, this is just another example of why I buy physical, if at all possible.

lodossrage3845d ago

I agree with both of you.

When a game has a physical version, I ALWAYS get that version over a digital one.

The ONLY time I buy digital is when that is the ONLY format for a game.

Moldiver3845d ago

Glad I bought this, way back. I still prefer the saturn versions of MSH and MSH Vs streetfighter. But I feel like my x360 version just became THAT much rarer. Making sure I NEVER delete it now.

lodossrage3845d ago

I don't have a 360. But im sure it's like the PSN network where as long as you downloaded the game or paid for it, you have access to it even after deletion

Moldiver3845d ago

I hope so. for peace of mind.

Marvel Vs. Capcom’s 20th Anniversary: Looking Back On A Legacy

While Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes may not have invented the cross-tag fighting platform (that honor would go to X-Men vs. Street Fighter, which released years before), it certainly solidified it, adding a smorgasbord of new characters from both the Marvel and Capcom universes to duke it out in high-flying fashion, with a number of powerful moves and super techniques that would leave opponents in the dust.

20 Characters Missing from the Marvel vs. Capcom Series

You can't make everyone happy, but there are definitely a few heroes and villains who really should be in Marvel vs. Capcom.

Yeah it's really strange that they didn't use any of their Netflix characters. Banking their cinematic properties seems to be a main focus of the suits anyway. Why leave them out? Both companies have a ridiculous amount of characters to come out with a roster so uninspired. Im having fun for what it is but it still makes you wonder who's making these decisions.

CorndogBurglar2837d ago

This is something else I can't figure out.

Not only do they have the film rights to Daredevil and Punisher, and not only do they have shows on Netflix for both of them, they are also fan favorite characters long before the movies even started getting made.

This was a perfect opportunity for them to add DD and Punisher to this series. It would have softened the "no X-Men" blow. Look, we didn't add X-Men this time, but we DO have these guys!

Jaypi032837d ago

Knowing Capcom, most of the character listed will be DLC.

PapaBop2837d ago

Not to mention Iron Fist who was in the last game. DD would have definitely would have gone a long way to soften the X-Men blow but it's Capcom we're talking about, they never do things the easy way.

Skull5212837d ago

You guys are forgetting the $30 season 1 pass... and the $30 season 2 pass, and the $30 season 3 pass...

gangsta_red2837d ago

Agreed, it looks like most of the marvel picks were for movie promotional reasons so it makes me wonder why not one Netflix Marvel character is featured in the game.

No doubt they may have that lined up for DLC

The 10th Rider2837d ago

I imagine Netflix makes as much money from the characters as Disney does. Disney is also pulling their shows from Netflix to start their own streaming services, but since Netflix was involved in the making of those shows I think they're staying on Netflix for the time being.

Other than that I'm pretty sure the amount they make from Netflix shows pales in comparison to the amount they make from the MCU.

opinionated2837d ago

And iron fist was already in the previous game. They made an active decision to take him out lol. It's just weird if they are using MvC as promotional material like it seems.

PhoenixUp2837d ago

MvC:I has the most underwhelming roster in the series.

So much potential for characters that could've been unexpected gone to waste.

cellfluid2836d ago

The main reason I didn't buy capcom marvel infinite is because it doesn't have a combo breaker..

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite isn’t the same without arcade-era pixel art

A look back at the Marvel vs Capcom series and the evolution of pixel art to 3D.

It's just a pity the magic that Capcom captured in the '90s with their hand-drawn sprites has been lost to generic, plasticky 3D models. Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is fun, but that world-mashing graphical charm just isn't the same.

Capcom should team up with arc system works..

Lexreborn22839d ago

For once can we like just let a franchise change without holding it to nostalgia?

3-4-52838d ago

No because it looks worse. If it looked better, then yes.

Lexreborn22838d ago

Looks are 100% objective the game does not look ugly. If that's the biggest gripe is the looks then ain't no reason to talk about this with people like you

FallenAngel19842838d ago

On its own merits MvC: I still looks off in some places

Lexreborn22838d ago

So because some places look off in some individuals opinion it ultimately means the game looks ugly? The game looks great I just got done playing it the last 6 hours. The style they chose is simply different that's it.

FallenAngel19842838d ago

It certainly does in comparison to past titles.

Some of the characters weren't made to be in this kind of art style
