VG: "Dead or Alive creator Tomonobu Itagaki has suggested that he may work with Nintendo again on a future project once work on Devil's Third has completed."
Does not surprise me. Nintendo need devs.
Not sure why people are disagreeing when more games and developers aren't a bad thing. Especially when Nintendo is in the financial position to expand. I would love for Itagaki to make a spiritual successor to either DoA or Ninja Gaiden for the Wii U. Maybe Ninty will acquire Valhalla after Devil's Third has hit shelves.
Itagaki needs to go back to team ninja.
"Itagaki needs to go back to team ninja, and slaughter them all for what they did to Ninja Gaiden" Fixed your comment for you. Ok maybe not literally kill people but at least stand in the middle of the room and tell them 'what the frack'
No thanks , DOA is all better without him now . Ninja gaiden can be salvaged ... hell the re-release fixed most of NG3 and made it as it should have been from the start . So long as they dont forget , ng4 could still be great . Either way it's not even a possibility , Itagaki pretty much cursed them when he "left"
I want to see an exclusive action game for the wii u similar to ninja gaiden series.
You will. Its called Devils Third
He needs to stay at Nintendo and make Mature games.
True, but Nintendo also needs a western dev studio, to make mature games. I really love Nintendo, but what I dont get is, why they dont make some kind of mature brand, call it Nintendoom or something like this. You know, a daughter company, to make the games, core gamers would call mature. This way, they could keep their image and also make the stuff others want ;)
Hey thats an excellent idea I like that. Maybe something similar to Gotham City Impostors? But with Nintendo's mascots and gore of course I would totally buy that. ;)
Western devs evah heard of Retro Studios, Next Level Games, Monster Games and others.
Sure I have. But they are too great at normal nintendo games. Nintendo should make new studios, for this new brand. If retro were to make such a game, we would lose a nintendo classic for this, but if it is a new studio, then they can keep making, what we all like from nintendo, but also the new stuff.
Hope Devil's Third profits from the 'touch of Nintendo' the same way as Bayonetta 2 did.
You aren't giving Platinum enough credit. The Nintendo skins/starfox level were cool, but it would still be amazing without them.
I think that came of a little different than I meant it. (Didn't mean the Nintendo flair stuff) Platinum is a very talented game studio. Baynoetta 2 is their baby and they deserve the praise and credit. But I am of the honest believe that they as a developer also profited from having Nintendo as a publisher. Not only in terms of funding, but also terms of consultation and philosophy - namingly the very high emphasis on quality (in all aspects of the game) - helping them to truly outdo themselves. That's what I hope to see for Devil's Third as well.
I'm not sure how Devil's third will turn out, but even if it isn't great i would like to see him make a straight up action game afterwards. Thats somthing i know would be good.
