Destiny: The Dark Below review - Eurogamer

Eurogamer:
"Three months is a long time in Destiny. Since the game launched, the cycle of shooting and looting has taken us around the galaxy many times and the repetition is not doing the content any favours. The bounties, dailies and weeklies have become overfamiliar, while the descent into the Vault of Glass Raid has gone from 'mythical aspiration' to 'a couple of hours on Tuesday night'. It seems contradictory to complain that a game I've spent 200 hours playing is running short of things to do, but such is the nature of MMOs: they take over your life, so they need to keep the content coming."

Another poor score. Oh Bungie where did you go wrong...
Oh yeah when you stopped making Halo and half of your staff left.

It went horrible wrong the moment they jumped into bed with Activision tbh. They still have some very talented folk there though and it shows in Destiny, it's just so many of the game design elements that are seriously flawed.

BlissSeeker3418d ago

Yeah fair enough I agree Activision is to blame as well but one can only assume they're making these decisions (it is likely).
End of the day I'm sure Bungie had a choice to partner up with Activision and agree to these terms.

There was so much potential with this game. SO MUCH. The story could have been amazing. The MMO- integration could have been amazing. The customisation, the exploration....

But alas...its just a shadow of what it could potentially have been and it's just so disappointing.

I still pray that a Sci-Fi MMO is made on consoles like how I imagine. Like something out of Mass Effect.

because failyo is good now ?

Lol, millions are loving destiny! There were poor reviews at release but I had already played the beta so I knew it was good. Havent played anything else but destiny for 3 months. It's highly addictive!

Clown_Syndr0me3418d ago

Interesting...from playing the beta I knew (for me personally) the game was garbage.

I'm still thoroughly enjoying the game, but this expansion is a little lacking IMO..

Was hoping for more

Man sometimes it's bitter sweet to be right.... It's bitter because I had high hopes for Destiny, everything before launch was a good indication, that Destiny was going to be amazing but... It turns out it was a game made with poor decisions and an extreme lack of content. The sweet part, watching half these N4G morons that deBubbled me due to pointing out the obvious, now sit here saying the exact same SH!t I was saying !!! Hypocrites at their finest

JJShredder3418d ago

I bought the Expansion pass....but Destiny is like the morning doughnut. Its there for you every morning at work and you know it's terrible for you but it is delicious and you eat it anyways.

But now all I feel is emptiness and regret and I hate myself.

Damn you Bungie for exposing my lack of self -control!

The Destiny Franchise is at its Brightest When Embracing its Darkness

Here, Twinfinite is writing that Destiny, despite being a T rated franchise, is full of dark and brooding moments that showcase the best of the team's narrative potential. They further write that, while Destiny 2 has not delivered as much as it should have on this front, Forsaken appears to be the big step that it needs to return to its greatest moments.

I miss the Summoning Pits, bring it back!

Omnigul is still the hardest Strike even with the new ones added.

Orejillz2923d ago

I never found Omnigul too hard, I welcomed the change of pace from everything that came before it.
