70 Questions And Answers About No Man's Sky

No Man's Sky presents players with a practically infinite galaxy to explore. Needless to say, this raises a few questions. In an attempt to clear up exactly what this ambitious game is and isn't capable of presenting to players, Game Informer's Jeff Cork sat down with Hello Games founder Sean Murray to find the limits of No Man's Sky.

I would like o ask if this horrible pop-in will be removed in final version...

JMyers3850d ago (Edited 3850d ago )

The world is being generated as you move through it. It's not traditional pop in. If you watch an interview with the Devs, thay can atually can move so fast that they out run the word's generation. This pace is set in the released verion of the game to mitigate this.

To fix this whole planets will need to be created as you land on them, regardless of how long you stay or explore. This is a waste of processing power and the game will definitely not be able to run.

I'm worried that all the exposure for the game, which at face value is a very positive thing, will ultimately seal it's demise. The expectations for this are so monstrous, I doubt such a small indie studio can deliver on them. From what I gathered from various comments on different sites, people want this to be an Eve Online/Star Citizen/Minecraft/Avatar/Juras sic Park hybrid and I really doubt it will come close.

It also doesn't look like an indie game. It has very pretty 3D graphics, which are rarely associated with indie titles. This will only contribute to harsher judgement in the long run.

I am very excited for this, I'm just afraid it will drown in bad reception.

I have always wanted a game like this. I'm also clearly not alone. People want this to be all it can be and I just don't think it will measure up, unfortunately.

It should be fun finding out though and that's all I can ask for.

I find it a little worrying that over half of the questions where he was asked f something can be done, the answer was no

Its an Indie game, not a parallel dimension.

jambola3850d ago

Yeah
but little things too i mean

I think that is part of the problem. When you announce that a Universe is practically infinite and that within that setting you make your own narrative, everybody develops their own ideas as to what should be possible within that Universe.

Everyone will have preconceived ideas in their heads with regards to what they would like to see/do in the game and not all of those will be possible.

As time goes by and more information is revealed, those infinite possibilities will inevitably become more and more constrained, leading to a sense of disappointment for many.

Serg's concerns are legitimate and we have to bear in mind that this game was initially being developed by a four man team (which I believe has now grown to approximately 20 people).

A lot of gamers will inevitably be disappointed by elements of this game unless they approach it with the right mindset.

My only hope is they keep updating it with new gameplay features and what not post game release a la Minecraft.

No Man's Sky (Switch 2) - Hello Games' Classic Without Cuts Or Concessions | NintendoLife

"No Man's Sky - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition brings this excellent, constantly evolving space survival adventure to your new Nintendo console in fine style. This is an almost-perfect match for other versions of the game, barring some very minor hiccups here and there.

Combat is still a bit naff, especially in space, and hardcore pirates might not get all they need from the systems in place here, but other than that, this is an almost perfect port of an almighty behemoth of a game. The sky, it seems, really has no limits." - PJ O'Reilly | NintendoLife

I am tempted to get the switch 1 version.

OtterX19d ago

Do it! It's still on sale until next week, then score your free upgrade.

It's so nice being able to continue our save from other platforms while on the go. (For me, PS5, PC & VR) I'm headed out of town this weekend and I plan on taking it with me. :)

That's a nice little surprise.

Honestly I gotta hand it to Hello Games. They really turned this game into something else with their dedication to it. A rocky start, but the game is unrecognizable to what we had at launch.
