"Rock ‘N’ Roll Racing and Super Off-Road were two of my favourite racing games as a young’un. Rock ‘N’ Roll Racing alone saw me sink more money hiring it from the local video shop than it would have cost to buy it! BlazeRush attempts to bring back some of this isometric racing mayhem back to the fold, and it succeeds to an extent, bringing back fond memories more than doing anything amazing to ensure the genre gets another solid push. "
You can point to any number of factors that explain why a critical winner ends up with soft sales and relegation to the bargain bin. Release timing can have a huge impact, especially when you look at recent entries in the Titanfall and Dishonored franchises. Both were launched into a sea of big hitters, and are now left with an uncertain future. Other times it can be over saturation of a particular genre, where something perfectly good like Realm Royale sheds more than 90% of its player base in light of the rampant success of Fortnite, PUBG, and H1Z1.
Start the new year with Day of the Tentacle Remastered and This War of Mine: The Little Ones.
I had been waiting for This War of Mine to go on sale, so to get it for free is just awesome.
This !!! Actually really wanted to just buy it,.. It is an amazing game. Really happy with January's PS Plus with this one alone.
Looks like 4 cool games for PS4
Why would you bother looking 'at the you tube dislikes again' septic anyway?
I never even like you tube vid in the first place so dislikes are not representative either
@Deadpooled
How much do you bet?
I can't even understand how you can come up with those completely unrelated assumptions.
Wtf? haha
I have wanted both these games for awhile. Was just about to pull the trigger on This War of Mine: the Little Ones.
Do you know if that is a separate title from This War of Mine?
Great start to what can only be a another great year for gaming.
@Septic What is wrong with people? 6 free games and good ones at that. SMH
So happy we also get Titan Souls and The Swindle on PS4, i almost bought them numerous times. 4 intriguing PS4 games and 3 VITA games, great month.
This War of Mine...sweet was going to pick that up once my backlog thins out now I'll just add it.
"This War of Mine" is a game I was interested in, but not ready to buy at the time. Now I'll get it for free, which is nice. I had already played Day of the Tenacle on PC and game consoles. Never played the remastered version, so I guess another play through can't hurt. Besides "The Swindle", I know nothing about the other 3 games. Looks like Sony decided to scrape the Indie barrel one more time and see what they could scoop out.
@Errorist76
Not a whole lot to be happy about. They still haven't even given us Knack or DriveClub yet. Funny, because if any of these games were part of Microsoft's GWG, you'd be the first one in the article bashing them.
@Mr-Writer
I'm talking about the full version, not the demo that was released almost 2 years late. No, I won't buy Knack. Should have been on PSPlus by now. I'd rather save my money for more promising games like Horizon and Days Gone.
@IamTylerDurden1
I don't game on PC much and I had never heard of Titan Souls. There are 100's of Indies out there and I don't try to keep track of all of them. The most recent PC Indie I'm interested in is OwlBoy. I hope that comes to game consoles. Not an awesome month. Another Indie month with a couple games to try. Besides Day of the Tentacle, I don't think any of these games scored an 80 or higher.
@Xander
Driveclub has been on Plus ages ago.
http://www.gamespot.com/art...
As for Knack if you really want to play it, buy it?
Xander
You are a PlayStation and PC gamer and you never heard of Titan Souls or Devolver Digital? Damn...
Don't forget TItan Soul!
Its on Vita but its cross buy with PS4, so buying it gets you the PS4 version folks!
Awesome month. 4 quality PS4 titles.
The Swindle is a stylish rogue like.
Day of the Tentacle is aTim Schafer classic.
This Little War is a stellar game plus an expansion.
Titan Souls is a bad ass boss rush game where you only have a single arrow to defeat horrowing, 1 hit kill monsters.
I bought This War of Mine a few months ago on sale, but still haven't gotten around to it. At first I was bummed to see it for free, but honestly it looks so good that the developers deserve as many people playing their game as possible.
Wow. 8 people disagree with you looking forward to playing those games!
Go home N4G, you're delusional.
Don't even download them, that only tells them they can get away with just giving shovelware.
Sony use to try, but now that they're beating Xbox to a pulp and PS+ is required for online they just give you throwaway stuff.
I've made a list of a few of the top games that were added to PS+, the dates they were added, and how long after the game was released at retail, during the PS3 days. Here's what the Golden Era of PS+ was:
Infamous 2, Little Big Planet 2 - June 2012 (1 year after release)
Saints Row 2 - July 2012 (1 year and a half after release)
Just Cause 2 - Aug 2012 (2 years after release)
Red Dead Redemption - Sep 2012 (2 years after release)
Ratchet & Clank All 4 One - Nov 2012 (1 year after release)
Arkham City - Dec 2012 (1 year after release)
Bioshock 2 - Jan 2013 (3 years after release)
Sleeping Dogs - Feb 2013 (6 months after release!)
Mass Effect 3 - March 2013 (1 year after release)
Hitman - May 2013 (6 months after release)
Uncharted 3 - June 2013 (1 year and a half after release)
Battlefield 3, Saints Row 3 - July 2013 (1 year and a half after release)
Spec Ops: The Line - July 2013 (1 year after release)
Assassin's Creed 3 - Aug 2013 (1 year after release)
Far Cry 3 - Sep 2013 (1 year after release)
Borderlands 2 - Dec 2013 (1 year after release)
Bioshock Infinite - Jan 2014 (1 year after release)
Tomb Raider - March 2014 (1 year after release)
PES 14 - April 2014 (6 months after release)
Those days are LONG gone. Now (since they made it a requirement for online play) they aren't even trying anymore. They just slap a few indie titles to the release list from month to month. I had hope when I saw Transformers that they were back on track...alas such is not the case.
These were the times when multiplayer was free and ps plus was optional (as it still should be), so they had to offer games that made people want to sign a subscription. And because(and even if) they make much more money off ps plus nowadays, sony does not have to offer "big" games on a regular basis. But atleast there were a few gems from time to time.
Rocket league, transformers, outlast, stick it to the man, infamous first light, tropico, journey, valiant hearts, the swapper, lords of the fallen, helldivers, injustice, oddworld new and tasty are the ones that come to my mind which i really enjoyed, a few might be missing
Yakuza 4 and 5, P4:arena ultimax, and dragons crown should be there too. I think plus would do better if they had more Japanese games. PS3 was great for this but ever since the PS4 launched the best it's gotten was Ground zeroes.
This has everything to do with the life cycle of the console IMO. These games were provided toward the end of the PS3's life (notice none of them are on PS4). As we get toward the back end of the PS4 (say 3-4 more years from now) I would expect similar AAA releases more regularly peppered in.
AAA makes sense only when a sequel is about to launch (to promote the franchise to new players), or if the developer has some other incentive (like continued sales of DLC or micro transaction type incentives). Otherwise using PS+ as a platform to promote unknown indi and AA developers is a good use of the platform. Edit- It also makes sense for under performing games that the developer hopes to help further promote and offset their losses on.
Also, just from a common sense stand point, while I love free (cheap) as much as the next guy, I think it's astonishing consumers paying $5 a month (yeah $5 dollars!!!) expect AAA games for that price. Seriously over-entitled non-sense IMO
How about off the top of my head i tell you we got Resogun, Outlast, and Rocket League day 1 and games like Injustice Ultimate, Infamous 1st Light, Transformers Devastation, Resident Evil, Helldivers, Oddworld NnT, NBA 2K, Yakuza 5 and more within about a year of release this gen. Since your putting 3 yr old games, we also got Lords of the Fallen, Dishonored, Thief, Saints Row, Journey HD, Valient Hearts, Persona 4 AU, Oreshika, Freedom Wars, and more.
Also, we don't get PSP and PS1 games every single month like we did last gen. We have crossbuy now and this month we are getting 4 quality PS4 and 3 VITA games. Last gen was obscenely long and by the time PS+ freebies started there was already a solid catalogue of games. It's unfair to compare, but this gen while we don't get as many big games with name recognition i personally think the OVERALL quality is actually better. We get many new games, and less throwaway games, and many are crossbuy.
I highly recommend Day of the Tentacle. On a side note I can't wait for Full Throttle later on in the year.
I guess I'll try This War of Mine.
Not only games with graphics from the 90's this month, but actual game from the 90's this month.
And still one of the best games ever..some people are so ignorant it hurts.
I've wanted to play This War of Mine for quite some time. Didn't even know it had come to console.
Day of the Tentacle is a classic. Considered one of the best games ever made. I will get Full throttle soon though. One of my favorite games of all time, and looking forward to playing it again after all these years.
Last month was trash but this makes up for it. Really wanted to play TWoM. DoTT is classic and TS will also get a shot as I haven't played it yet. Nice month.
This war of mine was a stellar experience, a definite recommend! Can't wait to play the new game.
It's always great when I get a game that I genuinely wanted to play. Day of The Tentacle, and Titan Souls excite me. I will at least try Azkend 2 and The Swindle(which looks interesting.)
*I already own This War of Mine, btw.
Bluefox I understand you. It seems that there's always some people that get pumped for the selections on plus. But I personally have only been excited once when hot line Miami came out and just recently with yakuza 5 but damn I had to hook up the ps3 again from storage to play it. Who has room on their TV stans for that anymore?
I would have to bee in the camp that feels Sony is just not trying hard enough to get better titles for Plus.
I can understand even 3 months where there' nothing that interests me but years? There's something wrong there.
Look at those dislikes in the video!!, people are expecting Uncharted 4 or what???
Anyway, I've been wanting to play This War of Mine for a long time.
pretty much. Kids on youtube want to buy PS+ for 10$ and play 2 new AAA titles worth 100$
I don't think it's that drastic. But look at what we got on PS3 with PS plus every month before the PS4 launch and than compare what we get on PS4 with PS plus every month. Pretty underwhelming.
Thats not what it sounds like to me. Sounds like they would rather play Killzone Shadow Fall or any other older AAA game similar to PSN+ back on PS3
Na, I was expecting Killzone Shadow fall or Knack or Infamous Second Son or even AAA game from first year that PS4 release but I wasn't expecting to be completely indie across all 3 systems. PlayStation should at least give one AAA with each line up but it doesn't mean that it have to been from this year or last year. For example Sleeping Dogs or Watch Dogs or something like that.
@Errorist76 is 10$ a month in NA. Anyway I pay PlayStation Plus ever since they started giving free games on PS3/PSVITA and I am not greedy since I am saying going Complete Indie isn't always good and they should at least offer old PS4 AAA games at least. So explain to me so PlayStation can get away charging $10 extra in exchange for nothing since PlayStation Network didn't have an improvement, didn't bring a huge update for PS4 that have missing features that supposed to have day one since PS3 have all those features, Plus title is not strong and mostly Complete Indie every month across PS4/PS3/PSVITA. I am paying $10 more for a better service while Xbox Live be getting good live games for a while and I am not saying give 4 AAA games a month but at least balance it out with one indie and an old AAA game.
@Kaneki-Ken you pay $10 a month for ps+?!?!? So you pay $120 a year for ps+?!?!? Hmmmm lies or you don't know how math works.....or both.
@oONinjavitiSOo when did I ever said I pay $10 a month. Last I remember, if you read my comments I mentioned it cost $10 for a month in North America and I said they charging $10 more from the $50 plus a year. So you can't read!?!? Where did I ever mention that I pay $10!?!? Trying to correct me!?!?Hmm mm so either you are dumb or you just can't read or both.
People also disliked when Rocket league came to PS plus on release and that turned out to be one of the best PS plus games ever. People still asking for knack... I actually like this game but come on, it's dirt cheap now.
Yeah but unfortunately not all indie are as good as rocket league. Many of the indie is the same type of style and not always bring something new to the table while rocket league was something new, fresh.
Which further makes the point that Sony should just include it as part of PS+ already. I mean it just got a PS Pro update. Why not give it away. Sorry to say that Sony's included games with PS+ jumped the shark awhile ago. I was a + member from it's inception. Supported them even when it was optional. It is hard to do though when you just can't help but feel like they are not even trying anymore.
Here is my idea and I want everyone to rally around it.
If you don't prefer the selections on Plus then we should only have to pay HALF PRICE for plus which is $30 US. If you actually do like the selections then you can keep paying your $60.
Give us REAL options Sony, please! Don't be like Microsoft and just muscle money out of us!
they could put out two highly rated, highly anticipated games that wouldn't release for another month, and people would still dislike it. People love to hate.
It's a strange thing. Is PS+ the same as it was for the first first year or two? No. It was a VIP type service and the games largely represented that.
In this gen they have really cut back on the quality of games but PS+ is also no longer an elective premium/VIP service but one needed to play online. So, the cut back in game quality is understandable.
For people that only have it for the games, it's become less valuable. People need to stop attacking people like this as we remember getting a RE5, TR, Just Cause 2, etc almost every month! Serious retail games almost every month in the premium service days. So, those of us that don't game online are absolutely getting less this gen.
Yet, it's still not as bad as some let on. It's now a case of every other month being weak and they make up for it the next. Last month was garbage and January is solid. I think I had 12 ups and 17 down votes for simply stating that with zero complaining. "Last month was trash, this month is good. Can't wait to try these games with great reviews." gets the moronic "f*** off then!" crowd up in a tizzy. LOL.
For some it is 100% fact that it's a service that lost a lot of value. Yet, it's insane to expect AAA titles every month. The "give us FF XV already!" crowd is just as illogical and annoying as those that think 3 mediocre indie titles is a good month.
No, but they would love to get TLOU Remastered, Knack, Until Dawn or even Bloodborne as a PSPlus game.
Yet another month of cheap Indies. War of Mine is a great game but it's The Little Ones standalone which is only $10. Day of the Tentacle is only $15. Sony has some balls jacking up the price while offering cheaper games.
Cheap games = great games
Days Of The Tentacle and War Of Mine are great games.
You're missing the point. What was the point of jacking up the price of a vast majority of the "free" games are cheap indies?? They reason they gave us was providing better value for members. I doubt indies are charging a premium fee for their games.
do some of you have to defend Sony at all cost and at all time? The comments and downvotes in the Official PSN Blog and their YouTube channel said it all. The majority of PS4 gamers with Plus are not happy with what Sony is giving us.
They jacked up the PS Plus subscription price for many of us and the least they can do is give us more than cheap indies on a monthly basis. Tired of this.
"...only $10"
"...only $15"
*Pays $5 for 'only' $25 worth of content*
@keneki: no one is paying $120 a year for PS+...
Content that apparently many aren't happy with but are forced to pay for if they want to play online.
Yeesss! Didn't played War Of Mine. Huge recommendation for Days Of The Tentacle. I played old version on PC, but this remastered game is just better.
And also Titan Souls is a stellar game.
Another month, another weak selection of PS4 titles. I was hoping the price increase would result in a few more AAA titles but it is the same indies again and again every month.
Everyone has an opinion, doesn't mean they're all equal. People throw around 'Indie' like it's a bad thing without realizing that it's still Indie titles that result in some of the AAA games we have today evolving.
not saying it is a bad thing but almost all of these indies can be played on other platforms including on my phone. Including a few more games that can only be played on a console/or console + PC will bring in more validity and uniqueness to PS Plus service. I think that is what many subscribers, including myself, are having an issue with.
@DrakeFan1: Most games can be played on other platforms as well, including PC with lower prices. Are you asking just for exclusives from PS+ then?
I seriously doubt the price increase would go towards giving gamers better games for free.
The issue shouldn't be Sony giving AAA games for free every month it should be giving titles that are more appealing to a wider audience.
You can't please everyone but when you have more leaning towards "this month sucks" then you know you did something wrong.
If people still complain this month the problem sure isn't Sony's. It's ungrateful and greedy people who can't understand Sony doesn't need to play catch up anymore this gen.
Yes, because people who complain about offerings (whether it's free or not) that are crap are definitely greedy and ungrateful.
Nope, not Sony's problem or fault, Sony is the best ever.
Wow, unbelievable.
I also don't think the extra money is going towards giving out AAA games every month either (can we stop calling them free since we do pay for them?).
People have every right to complain about it. If they don't like it, that's a valid comment. So, @Errorist76, I don't see this as a 'problem is with gamers' and can see how the problem can be with Sony if they are not listening.
Just, this month, for me, when they give critically acclaimed games as well as 4 games playable on just the PS4, I'm not sure that's the month to complain. That's my opinion, of course, so that's worth about two one trillions of a bitcoin. I do think they would do well to cut off PS Vita games for now and focus on PS4/PS3 (and cut PS3 in a year), but I think there's a bit of arrogance in Sony not accepting that the time for those devices are over in the Western hemisphere.
People complained when the gave away AAA games too. Even if they were highly rated games. There is no way to win. If you don't want the games, and don't want to play online, then don't pay for the service. If enough people do that, then Sony will wake up.
This month has some good games in there. Day of the Tentacle is considered a classic, and one of the best games ever made. If that's an low rent indie game, then oh well. Rocket League is also an indie game. But is considered a great game.
I hate to say it, but I think Sony is releasing games that appeal to more people. They just aren't releasing as many games that appeal only to those who only go towards the flashy AAA games.
Well i hate to say it but if Sony was truly releasing games that appealed to more people we wouldnt be back here almost every month having this discussion.
Day of the Tenticle WAS a good game all those years ago. Doesnt really hold up today unfortunately.
And that is pretty much the only highlight of this month.
And again, just because it's indie doesnt mean it's good. The fact that Rocket League is pretty much the only indie game offered for plus keeps being brought up is evident of that.
I'm buying a lot of big AAA games already, so having smaller interesting games for free is a bonus ( hoping for Salt and Sanctuary or Darkest Dungeon in Feb)
This War of Mine is good, but why can't they give better titles for PS3 and Vita? This is freaking ridiculous.
If I did not need to have PS plus to play online I would unsubscribe. The free offerings were amazing on PS3 back than but ever since the PS4 launch it's been indie game after indie game. Now I understand that some people might like these games and that's great for them but these games are on a level of SNES games just with better graphics (sometimes).
Yeah, shit games on SNES. Chrono Trigger, The Legend of Zelda, Super Metroid, Secret of Mana, Super Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Country, Final Fantasy VI, Mortal Kombat II. Just shit games that have never been seen as games that will always be great and not get bad with time. We all know having crappy graphics from the 90s makes you an instant fail in today's day and age.
I never said that. When did I say that SNES games are shit? You are way to sensitive. What I meant was that I got my PS4 to play PS4 games not games that I could play on a SNES. We have moved on from those type of games a long time ago. Once in a while it's fine. But that's all we are getting with PSplus now and PSplus was amazing on PS3. Also, PSplus is more expensive now. If you like these games that we are getting. Great. I don't. It's not worth it for me. Even though they are free (which they aren't because you pay a membership fee to get them). As for you graphics comment. That's just total bullshit that you made up because you took my comment as a personal insult. Is no one allowed to not like these "free" games? Must everyone jump for joy for every crap game that is given as "free" to us? Come on now.
***What I meant was that I got my PS4 to play PS4 games not games that I could play on a SNES. ***
Uh... none of the games can be played on your SNES...
***We have moved on from those type of games a long time ago.***
No, we haven't. Perhaps you have, but that doesn't make it 'we'. The fact that Indies continue to pump out Retro-style games means there's a market for it. But, even calling them Retro-style doesn't entail that they are limited by old technology, either. They look Retro, but most games put out by Indies today are complex like AAA games today as well.
***Also, PSplus is more expensive now. [...] It's not worth it for me.***
Then stop paying for it. Simple as that.
*** You are way to sensitive. [...] That's just total bullshit that you made up because you took my comment as a personal insult.***
These are words you're telling yourself here. It's obvious through your response. You're the one making this personal and getting bent out of shape. My comment was focused on your thinking that 1. SNES games today are not as valuable as they were in the 90s and 2. that just because they look like SNES games they must not be of value. It had nothing personal, I'm not bent out of shape. You're the only one here making things personal.
Take a moment and reflect on that.
BTW, still disagree with your assessment of what are 'worthwhile' games and what aren't.
***Is no one allowed to not like these "free" games?***
Show me where someone said anything of the sort? But, you share an opinion and people are going to disagree. That's life. If you don't like it, don't share an opinion on a public forum.
Christopher, you have serious problems with understanding basic English. So I will not respond to you anymore. You keep putting words in my mouth and even though I explained what I meant you still stick to your version of what you think what I said. There is no point to continue this "conversation".
***Christopher, you have serious problems with understanding basic English.***
Instead of actually debating anything, I'm just going to insult you. Okay. Ciao.
*** You're deriding that guys perfectly valid opinion by twisting what he said and saying all those snes games were shit?? When did he ever say that?? ***
Sorry, but no. He said they were on a level of SNES games, he complained about the games, not the graphics of them, but just being on the 'level of' those games. That brings all elements of those games into question, not just their technical level but their quality as well. Since when is being on the 'level of' those SNES games I mentioned a bad thing? I do admit I called them shit rather than saying they were 'of that level', but it seems obvious to me that people equate current day games as being inferior if they don't look like the latest and greatest. That's the mindset that doesn't even take the time to see if a game is good and instead labels it poor based on it looking not like a AAA game (unless it's an exclusive title, then people ignore that stuff because console wars).
Perhaps some people are perfectly fine supporting these sort of mindsets as 'giving the players what they want', but I will never rate a game based solely on of if it looks like it's a retro game or isn't a AAA game. I think this is something we should all support and encourage, players looking for good games wherever they may be rather than from just AAA companies. I won't stop thinking that even if I dislike the games I get from one month to another. I'm not going to dislike a game I've never experienced just because it's an Indie or looks like a retro game. This is what people are doing here.
(I am not going to enter the Indie argument since pretty much, there no right or wrong answer but I going to say that in my opinion Indie and AAA need a balance and doesn't mean have to be recent AAA games nor it have to be quality Indie games always but balancing it will justify subscriber since some pay Plus exclusively for PSVITA or PS3 or PS4 or all but in the end is just my opinion.)
You can't see what you're doing Christopher can you? You're deriding that guys perfectly valid opinion by twisting what he said and saying all those snes games were shit?? When did he ever say that??
He just made reference to the snes because of the 'poorer' technical quality of indie titles that's all and that's obvious. You then so blatantly twist it to me ton classics in the snes era?
Those games btw looked great or were cutting edge at the time. These Indies aren't now so your rant is just so unnecessary and I feel for the guy.
His first post was clear enough.
You can't play War Of Mine and Day Of The Tentacles on SNES because SNES isn't powerful enough to run these games.
How in the whole world you can say that games aren't good IF YOU DIDN'T PLAY THEM? LOL.
You should try them first and foremost
Is my comment seriously that hard to understand? When or where did I say that you can play War of Mine and Days of the Tentacles on the SNES? I haven't. I just compared the games to SNES games because as far as their gameplay style goes, they are on the level of SNES games. Just so you guys know Days of the Tentacles was first released in 1993 on MS-DOS so in theory, you could play that on a SNES but I'm not talking about graphics here but game quality and gameplay. I've seen gameplay videos of both and seeing that I know I would not like those games. Playing the Last Guardian now and after that playing these two are like driving a 1993 Honda Civic with a new coat of pain right after I drove a 2016 Lamborginie. You might enjoy the Civic "experience" and that's up to you and your personal preferance but I would not, I'm sorry. I bet people will find a problem with this comment as well and keep on twisting my point. Oh well, N4G I guess.
Funny, isn't it. :D
"Gamers" should give some respect to The War Of Mine, Day Of The Tentacles, Swindles, etc.... developers and play these games, not throw a shit on them.
Not a very good month at all.
I mean Day of the Tentacle is a an okay game if you never played it but I doubt it holds up. Back then it was a good game coming off of Maniac Mansion fame.
I don't mind indie games being offered, I just ask that the games be good and somewhat appealing.
It's a point and click adventure game. Those types of games usually age extremely well. The ones that don't are the ones with complicated input schemes to them like the extremely old King Quests games. Type in look to look at at object. That kind of thing.
Also Maniac Mansion is included with Day of the Tentacle as an easter egg.
The problem is your idea of a good or an appealing game may be different to what other peoples' idea of a good game is and Sony can't please all of the people all of the time.
The only problem I have with the games being offered free with a PS+ subscription is the fact that I don't have the time to play them all what with snap sales and the number of games that I have and have not played yet. I even have PS3 games that I have not played or only partially played.
@MasterCornholio
I have never been a big fan of point and click games preferring Action/Adventure and RPG's (action, turn-based and active turn-based) myself. But with that said I don't begrudge anyone liking them. Anyway, I will still be bookmarking the free games (actually I will give Titan Souls a try) although when I get the chance to play them is anyone's guess.
this is no doubt a bad month for free games but luckly for me bloodborne will keep me busy this next month im going to plat it
While the offering for this month are not all that much to my liking I have so may games that I getting to the point that I have no idea where to start. I will bookmark them though.
Bloodborne is a definite especially now I have the "Old Hunters" DLC which I got for 60% off and you can spend many many hours in those Chalice Dungeons. I am also playing "Lords of the Fallen" which IMHO is a surprisingly good game. I just recently got the DLC games for The Witcher 3 and there goes 30 ~50 hours and I have no idea when I am even going to get the chance to play "Dragon Age - Inquisition" which I purchased over a year ago and only spent five hours playing it.
I just recently got "Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas" (50% off on PS+) and if you like "Zelda Windwaker" then I would recommend you give this game a try unless you hate the thought of a cross-platform Zelderish game with Dragon Quest Builders style of graphics.
There is no way I am going to get Skyrim for the PS4 (currently on special) since I have put in over 300 hours on the PS3 (The Legendary Edition) and once you turn off the auto-saves the game is quite playable.
They do need to make an effort to add bigger games, but I did want these games.
I've been curious about both of those games, so it'd be a good time to pick them up! I had played day of the tentacle/maniac mansion way back when those games were first released, though.
If all those Sony gamers who disliked the video stopped paying for a few months Sony might get a hint.
Garbage. A stinking pile of garbage. Again and again. But I'm sure Sony cares... with them counting all that $$$ PS+ bring in. What a joke - it's a fee for online multiplayer. Simple.
The way I see it now, Playstation Plus offerings remind me of a bookstore where there's a dedicated section of overlooked books that are hit or miss.
Perhaps I'm inured to all of this, but I suppose this new approach does make some sense. If they gave away high profile titles now, I think people might be frustrated because they already bought it. I'm sure it's a cost saving maneuver, but it does put games out there we otherwise would have overlooked.
That being said, I cannot comment on the quality of these games, but hey, they're free so I'll give them a try. I just may have fun.
Yup, I just consider ps plus a multiplayer pay wall, it's the only reason I have it. Definitely not for the games.
Two great games. It's months like January that I love having the best games b/c otherwise I never get to them. Still playing FF15 and trying to get done before Horizon comes out.
Regardless of people "looking at the Youtube dislikes" I cant complain about free stuff.
Oh I get it, this shit again. The game is free, PS Plus is not, learn the distinction.
Yes "this shit again". How are they free? You only get then because you pay for PSplus. Cancel your subscription and you can't play those games anymore so they are a part of a paid service. It's like paying for cable and say that you get the Discovery Channel and History Channel for free. You DON'T!! Learn when they fuck you over!
For those trashing Day of the Tentacle I emplore you to give it a go, it's better than 90% of games that released after it.
Really getting tired of this garbage indie shit. Xbox is giving away triple A games and Sony is still ignorant to the high they still have from overtaking Xbox so much... Xbox is catching up with the new xbox one "S" and Sony is going to blow it if they don't start giving amazing games out. They did with PS3 so it's not a matter of money, they assume that since PS4 is so ahead of Xbox that they could give you literal garbage and you'll be happy just to have a PS4.... this is the same shit they pulled with the PS3 launch. Their ignorance was their downfall. FYI I'm not a fanboy of either side, I just want Sony to stop giving away lesser titles.
Xbox is catching up? U do realize that even the months Xbox won in NPD they still lost bc PS4 sold better in world aka OVERALL sales. Even the months they were "catching up" Sony was still widening the gap. How can you be catching up when your deficit continues to grow?
In actuality This War, Tentacle, Titan Souls, and Swindle are 4 pretty good PS4 games. They aren't "literal garbage". Imo it's fantastic to get 4 interesting PS4 games (that i don't own) in the same month. However, i understand that some gamers aren't informed enough to understand the quality of games not titled CoD or Overwatch.
We recently got AAAs like Resident Evil, Transformers devastation, Lords of the Fallen, NBA 2K, and Saints Row. We won't get big games like those every month, but as long as they are quality games i'm happy, and this month they are 4 quality games.
Ok easy boy, I agree with you and you made a good point. While CoD and Overwatch are not the only two games I know about I'm just not that big into indie. That being said, you are right. We've gotten some AAA games in the recent past and I guess I can't expect every month to cater to my needs.
Now as far as the Xbox catching up, correct, they're not really catching up, but Sony knows they missed the mark with PlayStation VR and PlayStation Pro and because of that they know Microsoft is in a better position to pull ahead IF and it's a big if, they can fully pull off the Scorpio in the way consumers desire. If they can then Sony could be in trouble. On top of that the new Xbox One S is selling almost as good as a completely new console launch, so there is some momentum building with that too.
You people that are crying about not getting triple A titles are goofy, really poor, or both. I seem someone say they want Knack, and Driveclub.
I already have most of the triple A games that I am interested in, so it would be a complete waste to me. I'm glad we get great titles that may have been otherwise overlooked like Guacamele, Valiant Hearts, Deadly Tower of Monsters, and many more.
You want AAA games?... Here's an idea. Get a job and buy them when they come out.
Sage is right, any AAA game that i was highly interested in would already be bought. Knack and DC are dirt cheap, if ppl really wanted them they'd have shelled out the 7 or so dollars (each) and bought them. Tbh, i was hoping for Night in the Woods, but Titan Souls, Swindle, Tentacle, and This War are a terrific bunch.
