"With the likes of Machinima, n4g, and ign dominating the online gaming news niche SpawnCandy would appear to have a long road ahead to compete in the world of "big money" gaming entertainment. "

Don't really consider N4G to be "Big Money" due to the fact that it is almost completely user driven. N4G does what IGN don't lol. We are better behaved, generally more informed and we have rules.

I am however interested to see what SpawnCandy is about. Anything that helps pull influence away from IGN is something I support.

MagicGamer3851d ago

If I am not mistaken I think they have a talent that comes from the IGN team as a freelancer for SpawnCandy. Some kind of agreement, But I totally agree with you Eonjay.

Barnaby-Jones3851d ago

I personally hope N4G becomes fairer in all regards. How can people go on about integrity and fairness in one instance but don't abide by those same rules in the other? No offense to you but I have seen this happen with other users with high bubbles. It only ends up hurting N4G in the end imo.

MagicGamer3851d ago

Seen what happen? I personally think N4G is just about the most fair of all the gamer news websites just because of their concept of having it user driven.

gangsta_red3851d ago

I agree with Barnaby_Jones. this place is far from fair, better behaved...maybe...but the rules are questionable and definitely there to be bended...constantly.

The main problem is the bubble system only rewards the people with like minds who have the same opinions and views and punishes anyone else that thinks differently, keeps the ones with different views in their place with unseen negative votes.

People with high bubbles control the conversation and debates and the majority here lean heavy to one side of this console debate. And ones with high bubbles usually have a higher trust rate which means their votes count more.

Until that bit of annoyance is taken care of N4G will never be "fair".

mixelon3851d ago

I agree to an extent. The bubble system in general is pretty ridiculous and totally counter-productive to any sort of nuanced discussion. back forth back forth oh no ran out of bubbles.

You can get bubbled up massively by being a mouthpiece for the status-quo, which doesn't really mean you deserve 2-3x the voice of everyone else.. Imagine that system applied in any other setting. Hmm. Imagine if that happened on Youtube. The more upvoted, the more you get to comment? Yeah.. Horrible thought. XD

I appreciate the article but this guy must be living in a delayed universe, The reputation was ruined 10+ years ago and hasn't recovered since. As such people have voted with their wallets and stopped buying Xbox products in large amounts.

What reputation is this threatening exactly? 😂

Rumors of Turn 10 being either shut down or hit with massive lay offs is on the horizon.

The issue is MS will do something right only to do something very, very wrong. And they do this what seems calculative at this point. Doesn't matter what they do the Investors and leadership want more and more money an endless bottomless pit of purr insatiable greed. A company that acts like it's broke or hurting is what really, really infuriates me. They've surpassed apple again well over 3 trillion who acts like they're a million dollar company is fk stupid. Pivots and changes for no reason and can't do things for more than a year with out a pivot or changing their metrics.

That would be really bad since Phil just hyped up next year as a big Forza year at Summer Game Fest.

@christopher: “ That would be really bad since Phil just hyped up next year as a big Forza year at Summer Game Fest”
The key word big can be ether good or bad 🤷🏿only time can tell

First Forza being generated entirely via AI?

If any company would do it, it'd be them.

The 'Stop Killing Games' initiative is close to its final deadline

Ross Scott—also known as Accursed Farms on YouTube—has been fighting tooth and nail for almost a full year to help spearhead game preservation. Starting after it was announced that Ubisoft's The Crew would be shutting down, permanently ending support for the game, Scott launched the "Stop Killing Games" initiative.

That makes a twofold deadline for the Stop Killing Games initiative. Or, at least, one headed up by Scott: The UK petition, which ends July 14, and the EU Citizens' Initiative, which ends July 3.

M3talDiamond4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

If you live in the EU then Please sign this or our game ownership rights and game preservation is
at stake. I know there isnt much time left but please consider signing the petition

-Foxtrot3d ago

I never knew Ross Scott was doing this

People whine and in the end don't do a thing. Then whine more when they get screwed some more smh. If this makes it then it'll be monumental for consumers. That Pirate software guy was no help either smh.

The EU Date is the 31st July not the 3rd

"Players can now hide system apps, pin favorites to the list, and reduce the number of tiles displayed. This update is part of our ongoing effort to make Home more personal, flexible, and responsive to feedback."

darthv724d ago

Well its MS news... those are usually pretty dry, unless it has something to do with another game being ported to PS. then its top of the pops.
