In an industry filled with the apparent need to milk its customers for more money, even after spending over $60 on the base game itself, Guerrilla Games‘ decision to eliminate the need for microtransactions in Killzone Shadow Fall, is undoubtedly a very good thing.
In the latest update for Killzone: Shadow Fall, Guerrilla Games added a new form of in-game currency known as “Valor."
By earning Valor, gamers can convert points attained in multiplayer to Valor, and buy multiplayer perks/items previously only unlockable by purchasing them with real money.
With Guerrilla Games’ introduction of Valor to Killzone: Shadow Fall, microtransactions are no longer necessary – allowing gamers to earn welcome multiplayer items/perks by simply playing, not paying for more of, the game.
Some of Sony's first-party PlayStation Studios may be developing their future titles using Guerrilla Games' Decima engine.
Might be for studios which were using older engines or UE4 like Bend Studio.
Sony's big 5 studios' engines are all unique to some degree and I want it stay that way for future new games.
Remakes can be done using Decima if required like Bloodborne or Uncharted 1.
Imagine From Software embracing Decima for future titles.
But then again Until Dawn Remake was done using UE5, when the original was made using Decima.
They need to put that Decima engine to work for Killzone 5 or a remake of Killzone 2.
Richard Bailey Jr. of The Koalition writes: 2024 was a special year for new game announcements and reveals across various broadcast industry events. From the official return of the Virtua Fighter series to the revival of several Capcom franchises like Onimusha, there is no doubt that the future looks bright. With this in mind, I wanted to put together a quick list of a few game reveals I fully expect to be announced within the next 12 months of this calendar year.
I would love it if Capcom would throw a curve ball shock everybody with a Dino Crisis remake. I would day one the game if it came true.

GB: "Say what you will about the state of the industry, but even as games evolve, their graphics remain a key aspect. Even some of the biggest flops this year sport some gorgeous visuals, as publishers and developers push the boundaries of what’s possible, pouring years of time and money into their work."
Quantum Break and Ryse are two that I was really surprised did not get an FPS boost option when played on the Series X|S. when i started playing both on the XBO, I thought they are both good, but after playing them also on my steam deck (in 60fps) I just cant go back and play the base games on XB. They really benefit from that faster frame rate.
Driveclub is another i wished had a HFR mode on PS5.
Most games this gen are the exact same except now we get faster loading through SSD and a res and fps bump. Graphically not much has improved, hell most last gen games are being relabeled and resold as “remastered” with the aforementioned updates.
I haven’t seen or played anything on either platform that couldn’t be run on last gen. Guess the law of diminishing returns is really showing itself these days.
Smh another reason why graphics haven't improved that much is because most devs too caught up on cross gen. Ps4 was/still a dope console but time has moved on we're halfway close to a ps6 reveal and devs still will be making games on last gen in 2025. Then theres Microsoft purposely got the Xbox series s that causes more devs to try to pull strings as much as they can smh. It's a mixed bag of stuff, the only ones I see pushing hardware is sonys studios and even some indie games look better
Love kill zone shadow fall multiplayer but I never in any game even free to play ones do I buy micro transactions so I'm glad to see guralla get rid of them. Hopefully they will start a new (or old) trend.
Every game should do this thank you gorilla games
Great! I love that in Mercenary. I'm glad it's coming to Shadow Fall.
Guerrilla Games keeping it real :3
