Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Gameplay Trailer Analysis

Of all the reveals at the PlayStation Experience, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was among the most anticipated, but what does the gameplay footage tell us about the game? It’s still very much an Uncharted game, of course, but there are a few subtle differences. The main thing that’s apparent is, it seems to be taking a lot of inspiration from The Last of Us, with more open areas and an emphasis on reactive stealth. After helping oversee the creation of Uncharted and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann were absent for the creation of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception – arguably the weakest game in the series. Coming off learning some new tricks with The Last of Us, the duo are back to oversee Naughty Dog’s next Nathan Drake adventure.

The PSX demo blew me away, stunning graphics and it's still a along way from release.

I read somewhere that that slice of game play was crafted in 3 weeks. That's unbelievable.

everyone needs to watch the 1080p gameplay trailer on gamersyde.com, it looks mind blowing.

That was the first version I watched. It looks sharper and clearer than the youtube version, but obviously the core visuals are the same.

It doesn't blow my mind, it just looks really good. Having played games like Crysis 3, AC Unity and Ryse on PC I didn't find UC4's visuals to be that overly impressive. It's definitely one of the best looking games, though.

The animation flow shown in the demo is absolute perfection.

Naughty Dog has always had fantastic animators, but the way different elements of the combat chain together in that demo is breathtaking.

Watch the high bitrate video on gamercyde again. Drake's movements are anything but perfect, especially while climbing. He's overly mechanical and stiff. And when he runs it looks like he took a dump in his pants.

You seem to be highly critical of a game that is a year away from release, the fact is, the game looks totally amazing at this point and can only get better from here until release.

Maybe you should look at both sides(but i know you wont)

I was mind blown by the game play. Looked rly smooth and beautiful

I hope they add monsters to the game. It adds to the game and changes it up from killing countless waves of people.
