At The Game Awards being held in Vegas, Hello Games showcased a brand new look at the awesome procedurally generated universe of No Man’s Sky.
65dos are writing the soundtrack to No Man's Sky? Goodayummmmm son.. Best news EVER!!!!!!! No Man's Sky saves another disappointing and embarrassing awards show, another year running.
I thought the game awards was quite good. There were several missteps especially in technical and pacing areas but the overall feel, tone and intent was five million times better than any vga/vgx to date.
My most anticipated game of 2015 by far. I want this so badly. Please don't disappoint! I have yet to watch the show but I hope McHale made an appearance lol.
I can see this game selling some PS4's.
My mind will explode when i play this game. Cant Wait!
I agree this game look amazing, even if it's just exploration I'm shocking hooked (although they said there will be combat and we've seen bits of it).
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I know people exaggerate when they say "mind blown", but how, how did they imagine that?
what is this game a travel log?
I can feel the headaches now.....
wow those visuals with a world that big, how did they achieve that
Can we get a release date soon please?!?!?!?!? We've been teased enough, we need relief for crying out loud.
Can't wait to play it on my new ps4. Happy to leave xbox and come to the dark side.
Welcome homie, I just bought an Xbox to go along with my ps4 and Wii u but damn Sony is hot right now.
Another showing of how pretty of an environement and another opportunity passed up to explain the point of the game. This game looks amaizing but at this point its starting to feel like thats all this game really is... a proceeduraly generated art piece and less of a "fun" game. Please show me the "fun" and less of the "pretty" so i can buy my ticket on this hype train.
I don't know...I kind of feel you on the "show me something else". But, at the same time, I can understand the draw of this game. It's like the opening of the original Star Trek shows..."...to search out new life and new civilizations and to boldly go where no man has gone before." That is pretty much the hook, charting your own path through a vast, procedural universe. I'd like to see some more. But, I also find it quite refreshing that they aren't spoiling anything for me.
i was expecting some details of the gameplay also there's no question this game is technically very good at this point, seems like this game will either take a couple more years until a full release or they are going to put it out and just have the gameplay be wandering around and getting points for seeing different things.
If you want to know more about the point of the game, check out the 30 minute interview posted yesterday on game informer. They cover a lot. The basic end game is to gather resources to get to the center of the galaxy where something is waiting in the black hole. They also talked about how the economy works (money is called Units) and how each system has a trade dock. They gave information about how to become wanted, ships, dying, how the generation works, portals (think Stargates) and stopped short of explaining the lore behind it.
Nice didn't see that one checking it now, that's what I wanted to hear!
It seems to me that the people complaining about "the point" of the game, aren't looking around for the details we've already been told. Yesterday, GameInformer posted a 30 minute interview where Sean talks about tons of stuff relating to the systems of the game. Before that there have been plenty of 15-20 minute YouTube previews which go over everything we know and includes in-depth discussions about the gameplay and everything else like the procedural systems. Plus, the PSX is going to reveal more. A lot more.
It amazes me how everytime I mention that the showings of this game are lacking in details I get "go watch this" type comments but not one person has actually responded with an answer to what is the point. For instance if I asked you to give me a short and quick synopsis of this game, could you? Could you make something out of it without talking about the visuals and the procedural generation, other than "fly around, collect items, build upon your ship to get to the center of the universe where a mystery awaits." That doesn't sound like a fun game. I am not saying that I am not missing something and I know all about this game. I am saying I haven't seen one shred of evidence that there is anything more to this game than fly from planet to planet doing the same thing we did in the dozens of other games but now we do it in a pretty and fancy procedural game world. What makes this game different, hell what makes this a "game" and not just some alternate universe space simulation.
does it concern anyone else that we've pretty much seen the exact same demo with minor details changed 3 times in the last year for this game?
I've always wanted to play a Stargate game. This looks great.
looks a complete n utter borefest flying around empty lifeless planets wots the point
:) :) :) :) :) :) Oh God I'm so happy right now!
