GTA V's Target and Kmart ban is part of the problem, not the solution

MMGN writes: What brought on the calls for the ban is really nothing new. Of the very few criticisms the game received upon release, that of misogyny and violence against women were the frontrunners. It’s not an uncommon criticism, not for GTA V, the broader GTA franchise, and games in general. Those criticisms, however, specifically in the case of GTA V, are tragically misplaced. This is a game that wants us to reflect and engage with corruption, with organised crime, and with violent, masochistic individuals. It’s a reflection of our society, churned through the meat grinder and moulded into a vile, harsh parody of our actual lives. Of our society, one that is treading down a dangerous road towards cultural castration, where “offense” is objective, and so, too, is humour.

The story is too old to be commented.

Now this is a good article!
Why is a violent videogame "not done" and a sick horror movie like Saw 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 etc. ok?
I will probably never understand.........
