Target Australia Banning GTA V Doesn’t Solve Anything

A petition signed by over 40,000 called for its removal, but other R-rated DVDs and games still remain on the retailer’s shelves. A move that’s one step forward and another back.

I just saw a tv show where a man gets raped in jail, then stabbed to death, an elderly man shot, and then a guy killed his own mother. But that's ok because theres no nipples in the show.

I'll tell you one thing this ban accomplished. I wasn't going to buy this game yet, but with 2 big stores pulling it I got nervous and went out and bought it before they do something stupid like a total ban in a year old game. Well done target and Kmart.

Why do these stupid feminazis gloss over the fact that this is a sandbox game, you aren't encouraged to kill women, you're encouraged to do what you want, be that kill men, women, or animals.

There's a torture scene against a male, you kill hundreds of male cops, and hundreds of male NPC's throughout the course f the game...yet no one gets up in arms over those deaths. But if someone posts an image of a dead female prostitute, there's outrage! It's such hypocritical, ignorant BS.

And the game has been out for over a year, selling on their shelves...but they're only taking it off the shelves now? How does that make any sense?

Oh Australia, remember when you had a reputation for being tough, rugged, wild, and free? It seems all I hear about Australia anymore are things that support the notion that its turned into a giant nanny state.

No one's compelling anyone else to purchase the game. If you think its inappropriate, vote with your wallet and let the game collect dust on the shelf. The idea that a vocal minority feels it has the right to impose its views to the detriment of others is getting so so old.
