"Relic's popular Company of Heroes RTS is back with a new standalone expansion pack that focuses on the Allied war effort during the Battle of the Bulge.
Company of Heroes has been a successful PC-exclusive RTS franchise for many years. I remember being at the unveiling at E3 several years ago and always thought the series looked promising, and it wasn't all that long ago that I finally got around to playing CoH2. Impressed, although eventually rediscovering that my type of RTS is of the sci-fi variety (ala Command & Conquer), I didn't stick with it. However, when given the opportunity to review Ardennes Assault, I was looking forward to change of pace and to try my hand at taking on the Oberkommando West across regions of Belgium."
Vic B'Stard writes: "When Company of Heroes publisher THQ went to the wall in 2012, the future of Relic’s sequel to their acclaimed 2006 WWII PC real-time strategy game seemed in doubt. Sega stepped in, themselves no strangers to the genre being publishers of the Total War games, and in June 2013 they released Company of Heroes 2.
Late last year Sega released Company of Heroes 2: Ardennes Assault, the first standalone expansion for the game."
Company of Heroes 2: Ardennes Assault is available on Windows PC to purchase online and in stores for $39.99, so to support it Sega has released two Battle of the Bulge trailers for the game, which is the theater of war the Ardennes Assault stand alone experience focuses on. One of the trailer is a live action look at the battle, while the other is from within the game itself.
In addition to the new trailers, Sega has also released an infographic that details what many consider to be the most important battle in American war history in the Battle of the Bulge. You can check out the graphic below, as well as a few new screenshots from the Company of Heroes 2: Ardennes Assault experience.

"Company of Heroes 2 – Ardennes Assault feels like an attempt to show that the development team at Relic understands that it failed in its attempt to create a historically complex and engaging campaign for the original version of the title.
The Soviet campaign had some interesting ideas, but it failed to be as accurate as some fans wanted and as dramatic as other envisioned it, and Relic has since been focused on expanding the multiplayer side of the title, which manages to attract a solid audience and can still deliver some impressive matches."
