Good list. Anything from the r9 270 up is going to give you a good experience. For $300 you can crossfire R9 270's and have a beast of a PC that hits around 9500 on Firestrike. for $400 you can crossfire the R9 280x and hit around the 12000 mark. If you cant crossfire on your set up or prefer single card setups the GTX 970 is the best card for $400 or less that has ever been made.

The 970 is a great card, but still in high demand and nVidia are having trouble sourcing enough GDDR to keep up. So I doubt you'll see more than about $30 off on those.
AMDs range is on the way out, most cards will be replaced with a new line in Q1 next year so I expect you'll see some sickening deals on those. Sickening to the people that bought them full price anyway.
