It was always going to be a hard-fought battle for supremacy in the next-gen console war, but with the Xbox One and PS4, Microsoft and Sony have gone all-out to make sure that their console dominates. Since they launched last year, Sony has taken an early lead with the PS4 outselling the Xbox One by around 50%. However, there's a good argument that a lot of that had to do with the Xbox One's high launch price, because it shipped with Kinect. Now Kinect is optional, and both consoles cost a similar amount, it's not so easy to pick which one you should buy.

I have to agree
I lower priced product will usually sell more.
But the biggest difference is in the number of Countries each is available in, PS4 = 100, X1 = 42.
As for which to purchase, The multiplayer games are essentially identical, so I look to the exclusives that interest me: Halo, Forza, SSO, etc
Another day, another silly headline.
"Neck-and-neck"? In what world are both consoles even pegging in the long-term??
The PS4 has been outselling the Xbone for over 9 straight months. One month where there is a price drop, lots of bundles and a Halo game, and the Xbone sales pick up in select regions (as predicted and as expected) and people lose sight of the long-term. Fair enough, there are some nice games for the holiday, and you're excited, but eventually, reality has to kick in: After the holiday season, the Xbone price goes back up, the lack of games compared to PS4 kicks back in, and PS4 continues to outsell the Xbone both in NA, and across the globe. December's conference is only going to cement a repeat of the kind of dominance we've been seeing for most of this year, when going into the new one.
PS3 outsold the 360 near enough year-on-year whilst having a significantly higher-priced console for most of a generation. It broke down an almost 10 million unit lead because it sold faster at a higher price, despite tons of negativity on its side, and all the negative press.

Regarding the games: Pound-for-pound, PS4 has better rated games, and plenty more.
Next year starts off even better than this year. Xbone doesn't have a AAA exclusive game for 6-8 months into the year, and as well as the exclusive marketing, PS4 has about 3x as many games in 2015, all-in-all - and that is before next week's announcements. There is no comparison.
Are we going to get this same messaging next November when Microsoft shoves all their games into the holiday season rather than spreading them evenly across the year and claims victory for the holidays, whilst people cheer on half a year's drought? Xbox has shown it can compete in the holidays, but year-round, something needs to be done about that.
best for me? ps4 and wiiU
A 7 million lead is what you call neck to neck...
Still, no one. But then, Silent Hills and Disgaea 5 will come out, and I'll buy a PS4.
That's my answer.
