MMGN: Shape Up achieves its goal as a fun-loving fitness game that makes light of itself and gets your heart racing through mini-games rather than personal training workouts. Most of the activities are fun, and you never really feel like you’re playing a fitness game while getting a decent beginner’s workout, which is the whole idea. Unfortunately, it’s way too overpriced due to a lack of content, then audaciously asks for DLC purchases, and if we’re talking fitness with Kinect, it doesn’t come close to matching the variety and validly of Xbox Fitness. Still, if that’s too serious and you’re looking for a more light-hearted fitness game to get up off the couch, Shape Up is ideal, as long as you can find it for well, well below the deranged asking price.
Neil writes "The Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale for 2nd-8th June 2015 has been detailed and it's full of discounts for both Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners. But there are far too many for the average gamer to get their head around so let us take a look at the best, and the worst of the offers on the table this week."
I went for Monopoly because I'd been waiting for it to drop to a decent price for a while. Tekken is super cheap though which is tempting.
I will be getting Tekken 6 for sure at that price, and Metro 2033 and Last Light are now at a Price I am willing to pay. Good deals this month. Also that free tactics game on XB1 looks interesting.
GTM:
"Ignore everything Jillian Michaels has ever told you: getting in shape and losing weight is not fun. In fact, it is routinely the complete opposite. Doing it the hard way – hitting the gym and braving the roads – is a challenge most of us would rather avoid. And doing it the ‘easy’ way often involves maintaining an oppressive diet or, if you’re overly dramatic, a tube inserted into your stomach. So it should come as no surprise that we turn to videogames as an alternative. A desperate last resort to get over winter gluttony and back to a fitness level where we can run for the bus without pulling a muscle. At the very least, it’s an opportunity to earn a few achievements while trying to fit into last summer’s jeans."
Is it like Kinect Party with a fitness focus?
