Nope, that would be Wonderful 101. Pikmin 3 actually has critical acclaim, whereas W101 has a pretty low score for the overall quality of the game. It's much better than most game reviewers would lead you to believe.
The problem is, W101 requires dedication and time to see its full potential; something that doesn't gel well with reviewers, who tend to play games in a hurry to meet a deadline.
What do you mean Smash with it's problems? I've been playing since yesterday and haven't experienced anything wrong. Besides a few things I personally don't like the game could be anymore perfect. Reviews have been stellar and the online really shines.
Personally the stage tilting, yellow demons, dragons, and what i call lack of sophistication in the controls, the things hamper the competitiveness, and the ability to string together, varying fighting strategies, and combos, but the game is still really fun, that's all I'm saying, I know how Nintendo enthusiasts like to throw around personal insults when you're critical of their games.
I am fine with that. Like I said I bought it for my daughter, she loves the Nintendo games, so if she is happy with it, me to, but as my tastes go, I am fine with X1 and PS4
The WiiU had a slow start, but wow is it picking up momentum. Bayonetta 2 and Mario Kart 8 is pretty much some of the most fun I have had so far this gen.
I can't wait to pick up Smash later on, I am sure I'm going to sink hours owning fools with Little Mac and Samus.
I picked one up as a companion to my PS4 along with Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World, and a Pro controller. I'll be completely honest here, it's some of the most fun I've had playing video games so far this generation!
People can whine about the console being underpowered but honestly, it doesn't matter when it comes to Nintendo IP's because their art style and game design doesn't demand the higher end specs that the competing consoles have and honestly, the games still look amazing! They're bright, colorful, whimsical, and the bottom line is that Nintendo games just make me smile! Besides that, if you've seen how good Watch Dogs looks and runs on the Wii U you'll realize that the Wii U is actually quite a robust little system if programmed to take advantage of it's capabilities.
Another thing that makes the Wii U so great is the fantastic build quality. Nintendo just makes quality products! They work as intended and you rarely hear about Nintendo made hardware having issues. Likewise with their software. Nintendo make take a long time to get games on the shelves but that's because they have impeccable quality control that all other developers/publishers should aspire to have. They simply do not ship broken games! I'll take the quality over the quantity any day and it's nice to have a more family-friendly alternative to all of the big guns, big tits, big explosion genres that dominate gaming popularity these days.
People always give the graphics answer, but really miss out on the beautiful lookinh games of Nintendo. Take Pikmin for example, it is just beautiful, to see the Pikmin collect all kinds of fruits.
Bought mine day one and I've never looked back. Love my PS4 as well but the Wii U has the best exclusives of all three by far. Really just wish they'd named it something else.
If I have one small nitpick with Nintendo, it's that they rely a little too heavily on their already established characters/franchises. I'd like to see them take some risks and develop some new IP's and introduce some new characters. This is why I'm really excited about Splatoon. It's a brand new IP with new characters and I think it has the potential to do for the competitive FPS genre what Mario Kart did for the racing genre. I'd also love to see Nintendo do another Metroid Prime game.
All in all though the future is bright with Toad's Treasure Tracker, Yoshi's Wooly World, Splatoon, the new Zelda, and the new Star Fox games coming. Looking forward to all of them!
The thing is, I haven't played nintendo games since NES. I can't be won over by Smash Bros or Mario Cart because I don't like those type of games. I could care less about fighting & racing games. I won't ever touch a Bayonetta game either. The platform games I can get into but IDK. Not buying one right now.
here's another 5 reasons
1.Super Smash Bros for Wii U (this is my personal GOTY)
2.Bayonetta 2
3.Super Mario 3D World
4.Pikmin 3
5.Mario Kart 8
♫♫♫ All we are saaaaaying, give Wii U a chance ♫♫♫
Good price and good exclusives make it a decent console to pick up when you got some spare cash floating around even if you already have a ps4 or X1.
1.Truthfully the price
2. Smash even with it's problems
3. Splatoon
4. Open World Zelda
5. STARFOX
6. cough* Pokemon MMO cough* "cubone"
I did give it a chance. I bought one for my daughter and I did not like it.
